I'd like to see Best starting alongside Shola and maybe we can play Ba and Obertan for Barton and Best in the second half.

I'm basing it off what I have seen of him so far. This is the mackems, we haven't got time to carry people along, especially not on Saturday. Shola and Best upfront for me.

Might have been a bit harsh calling him ****, but I wasn't impressed. He offered nothing. Best did, and Shola has to play.

I know Shola should play, but he's riding on the reputation of the mackem killing thing a lot now, he was detrimental to the side on saturday by winning absolutely **** all in the air and not being remotely interested in chasing the ball down. I'd tell him to up his game or he'll start from the bench on saturday. 4 good games a season isnt good enough.

 

Very good point. Until we get new strikers, we have to rely on what we know for Saturday. Best and Ameobi played really well there last year. We'll just have to see.

I take back calling Ba **** by the way, he's settling in I agree, but Saturday is too important.

 

Saturday is crucial, and maybe we shouldnt have Ba set as undroppable just because he is the best striker. Really dont know what to do striker wise for Sunday. I dont envy Pardew right now.

 

Ameobi has scored 12.5% of ALL his career goals against the mackems.

He's not just a Newcastle player, he's a Newcastle fan, so he seems to eventually wake the **** up when we play him. If he does that this weekend we gotta use him.

Although the annoying thing is that it shows he does have something in him, but only decides to show it during the derbys.

Was anyone else confused as to why he brought Lovenkrands on for Cabaye instead of Gosling?

 

More of an attack-minded move I think compared to bringing on Gosling.

 

I've been impressed by Gosling, thought he could have pushed up a bit in a Nolan type role, left Barton on the right with Obertan and Best upfront.

 

I dont know what it is about him, but he plays like god knows what against the mackems. After the game though I'd drop him when his form dips (about a week later). He shouldnt get 20+ apps a season just because he does so well against Sunderland.

 

I can quite honestly say I never judged Best because we'd never seen him play. His first game back he scored a hat-trick. So no, I never said he was ****.

 

I'd seen him play plenty in the Championship and concluded, as did many others, that he was dump. He hasn't proved me wrong to a large extent but he has improved my opinion of him, still don't think we should hang on to him for much longer, we have to aim higher.
