This is where your stance fails for me. Many say world was created in 6 days and you happily stand up and laugh, criticise, argue etc. And rightly so in some instances Yet you argue with Muslims about something you don't know about At least I have done you the courtesy of reading and quoting people who are at the forefront of atheism, rightly or wrongly
Without the resurrection Jesus is just another prophet. With it and the ascension he becomes the son of God You're not a Christian so you don't have to believe it, I believe a person called Jesus existed and was probably a pretty good egg, but I don't for one minute think he performed miracles or was the son of God.
Only I'm not arguing, he asked me a question and I gave an honest answer, but a quick google search suggests that there's plenty who would argue that there's contradictions within that text. I passed no comment or conclusion as to the validity of those claims, merely that they exist.
It's not an attack my friend it's an alternate point of view. Science has pretty much proven that man crawled out of the primordial soup and the process of natural selection has shaped every thing. From my stance there is no God but looking at it from yours then who created God?
So bar the miracles we agree. Of course there are miracles (or would have been then) and there are miracles and I don't necessarily believe all Again here my views are based on reading and research in the Bible. To the point of researching the oldest texts. My reason for not believeing certain things about Jesus isn't due to me being a Muslim. I believe it according to my research into Christianity But we have established you don't do that, see your comment on Quran, so really the conversation can't go anywhere and my point you were unhappy with stands
Muslims don't believe in the resurrection or him being the son of god, that's a whole different debate. When you or other quote evolution or big bang theory, it doesn't prove or disprove anything, neither does it prove something came from nothing. Do you think if left a tea bag, milk and sugar for infinite time it would eventually make me a perfect cup of tea by just by chance?
I'm not challenging your beliefs though, you're getting on your high horse for me having the temerity to suggest that there are those who would suggest that your religions text has contradictions within it, which was a challenge you put to me.
Science hasn't proven anything though, if you believe so please do provide the evidence. The theist were the forefathers of Science, the Atheist came along in the probably in the last 3-4 hundred years and waving it about as if its something they have discovered to disprove the theist people, that's the reality.
There is plenty who argue that science atheism etc is nonsense or contradictory, but ultimately we need to do our own research to inform our understanding and choices Think you made.points on why science had certain validities not sure your line here stands to that test tbh
I am not getting on my high horse, people are entitled to their beliefs, what I am saying is surely to disprove something then you have to have reasonable evidence to say nope you are wrong, do you see what I mean? rather than saying its basic knowledge.
hahaha, sanctimonious bullshit, so you've researched the Bible because you're a religious scholar and my view is based on ignorance? I was brought up surrounded by religion, went to Church schools and was even sent to a Priest factory to study one summer. My knowledge of the Bible is quite good thanks. I have little knowledge of the Quran, and have admitted so openly, and have questioned none of it's text, so that's a massive fail.
Hope you were smiling when you wrote that. There is talk of probabilities and who created God and then you mention primordial soup and natural selection?
I am not questioning your questions or knowledge though, its through our questions and answers we have understanding whether same in belief or not that's irrelevant.
There's no evidence for the theory of evolution? Really? Aside from an ancient text where's the evidence for creationism?
Theres no probabilities from my point of view as I follow the science line and today we still are seeing things evolving further but what's your answer on who created God assuming you believe God created man the he himself must have been created.
I havent said you are ignorant, simply gone by what you admitted yourself that you havent read the quran. I have been studying religion for over 20 years. Its a hobby. My FIL was a trainee priest so we have some good discussions. My 2 BIL are atheists and I have spoken with likes of Dawkins directly So yeah its a topic that arises a lot in my life
You said science hasn't proven anything, which is merely your subjective opinion, the scientific case for evolution over millions of years is backed up with evidence from the earliest fossils through to the skeletons of homo erectus. VS A book
Maybe I didn't clarify, I meant science hasn't proven either whether God exist or not, science can only tell you how something exists but not why. As for creationism, depends if your looking at from the Bible side of things or Qur'an, that in its self is a massive subject. The I guess, what would someone consider proof of God? unless you can do that how would you come to any conclusion whether one exists or not..
Science line gives probabilities. Evolution does contradict religion in its simplistic form. But some of it is not proven The simple answer to your question is I don't know. My religion addresses it as something that will be explained, science books like Hawkins theories of time also explain it to me That's just me mind, I don't push it on others
