I'm delighted he's broken the Scouser's hearts, but fairly worried about him going to Chelsea. I'd love to see him at Old Trafford - in place of Rooney. He hasn't been at his best the past couple of seasons, with injury's and what not, but he's still one of the best around. He's been pretty poor this season by all accounts, but still has 9 league goals in 23 games. What's Liverpool's loss is definitely Chelsea's gain, ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50 million or not.
No. Maybe a couple of years ago, but he's really injury-prone these days. Having being stung in this way on Hargreaves, I'd be very wary of spending big money on players who suffer regular injury problems
Im not happy he is going to chelsea as he is a class player and will improve them. But I dont want rooney to go anywhere and certainly wouldnt swap them. Chelsea also look like they will NOW be signing Luiz aswell. They will get stronger, a lot stronger.
Chelsea also look like they will NOW be signing Luiz aswell. They will get stronger, a lot stronger. ------------------------- Yeah but age is catching up with Drogba, Anelka, Lampard, Terry, Cashley and Alex. This makes them weaker, a lot weaker.
nohlman, Rooney is not 'damn awful'. He's been on poor form, but when he's on song (which he has been for the majority of his 6 and a half years with us), he is excellent. jordan, Torres may have been ok injury-wise thi season, but one swallow does not a summer make. In 08/09 and 09/10 he had plenty of injury problems. I just wouldn't be prepared to risk it having seen what has happened with Hargreaves
Fortunatley I am a bit older than you and have seen some seriously class players go through worse seasons than rooney. Form is temporary class is permanent. Scholes and Giggs when they were in there primes had a couple of shocking seasons in between some very good ones. Rooney is no different.
That's the problem with some of these younger fans. Some of them have only actually followed United for 2 or 3 years, so if Rooney has one bad season, it means he's been poor for half or a third of the time they've been watching him
Come on guys we need 2 top strikers in form, hernandez is in his 1st season and Rooney needs to start scoring. If we can have both Berba and Rooney on fire we will have a great chance
I'm not that worried. It's not their strikeforce losing them matches. And i dont see Luis being up to the pace so soon. Ask Vida and particularly Evra! the latter had a shocker in his first match after joining from the french league, a league which is widely regarded as a good place to get ready made prem players. Portuguese league will be tough to come from.
Not at all. people are failing to notice the blatantly obvious here, Torres, Drogba and Anelka are basically the same player, all out and out front men in their best position. Chelsea play 1 up front usually and they are not known for playing 2 up top. Torres of course doesnt do partnerships, hes a loan man and thats what he likes. cant see this working unless drogba is off which would be quite the insult to him as he has been the best striker they have had for years. Plus Rooney is better.
Torres signing is too little too late to save the chavs from a **** season.Rooney(Our own personal scouser)is miles better than that ginga twat!
Torres isn't worth ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50m. He is great at the business end of thing's but he needs EVERYTHING to work for him to be at his best. I think it will cause unrest and Drogba should surely realise his days at Chelsea are drawing to a close. The pressure on the manager, the team and Torres himself to make ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50m worthwhile will just be too much. As for Rooney, support is the key word here.
You're right mate. Rooney will be back to his best at some point. He's been with us for 6 and a half years now, and the majority of that time he's been very good, and excellent at times. Even the very best have bad seasons. And United is the best place for him to recover his form
Rooney will come good again, though i do get the feeling that Sir Alex is planning on reverting him, at least for the time being, to the Rooney we had with Ronaldo, so not he out and out goalscorer, which i don't mind as long as either Berbatov or Hernandez is there to play the role of the goalscoring forward. As far as Rooney goes, i am waiting for him to go on one of pre-last season streaks, aka scores for 5-8 games on the run
Lets be honest Rooney has been utter shat since the world cup, but he is too good not to play his way out of it (unfortunately for us) As for us getting Girlie Torres - who knows what he will bring to the party... depends on how he gels with Drog clever money should be on a good buy even at ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50m - Luiz surely will be pure quality at the back though We aint winning the Prem this term, I think that's clear - but our chances of success have increased in the CL with Torres (shame Liuz is cup tied)
no, not gutted at all. 1) torres is heavily injury prone - mainly due to the fat spanish waiter playing him whilst injured to save his own skin. 2) he's had minimal impact the last 12 months, due to sulking and the above. 3) imagine the reception he'll receive from drogba and anelka. frosty won't be enough to describe it - instant hatred = instant sulk = chavs stop scoring. 4) the transfer pushes chavs losses to 120-odd million quid for this year - their losses need to be zero in a year or two to actually keep in europe. torres is RA's last big gamble to win the EC before his millions become worthless due to FFP. i imagine if the chavs fall out the CL, he'll be off to the next 'big club' like a shot - and at a bargain price. hope they cancel each other out in the upcoming game - 0-0 would be both hillarious and helpful for us.
