Also this was their 42nd major trophy win, which now officially makes them the most successful team in English football, overtaking you guys by 1.
I'm sure they're happy to have won, I would be too. Still means they're more likely to be impotent in league next year because Jose is almost certainly staying, so it's not all bad.
You actually believe that? He has won the league 3 times already, and will likely spend £200m this summer till he gets it right.
Nah, thats a horse **** trophy. Just league titles, FA Cups, League cups, CL, Cup Winners Cup, Europa League.
That's what annoys me, they always land on their feet somehow, but all we do is land on our arse. We went out of the cups too cheaply this season, didn't take them seriously enough.
Ah well - we qualified for the champions league the hard way, and we should be proud of our achievement. This is still a small and weak squad. Klopp is building for the future, and without the spending power of other clubs.
Jose Mourinho is going to have a bigger mouth now, and have the unwavering support of Fergie. We cannot match Manchester United £ for £ on the amount they are spending on players. Never mind our time will come.
We did, we had a very weak squad this year. Weakest, thinnest squad since end of Hodgeson era. Despite that Klopp managed 4th. Yeah, at the cost of cups, but now back in Champions League we can probably sign some quality players and finally start rebuilding again. It's been a desolate decade but perhaps now things are hopeful. Depends on who we sign. No decent strikers in the squad. ok Firmino is ok, although I still don't that his natural position. No consistently good holding midfielders. Only one decent central defender. Only one decent true full back, although Milner was admirable. And two goalkeepers both of whom had long periods of crapness. (Although Migs did well last half of season). We've got good attacking midfielders, that's the only part of field we're strong. Yeah, we dropped out of cups easy, but considering we've got a weak squad I think we did well. United is full of household names. They got quality in backup. Honestly, they're a better squad than us at the moment. Their only major flaw is their manager. I think with the cups United had a better season than us, but I think we did remarkable considering our squad.
I said that too at the time. I like the guys who say that it is great that they've won 2 trophies and a champions league place as that means he stays at the mancs. What sort of silver lining is that? And to those who say we did well relative to our thin squad, I ask whose responsibility was it to make sure that it wasn't thin?
People keep saying "considering our squad". Is it not the task of the manager to make sure he's got an adequate squad? It's like saying "I am happy with getting 45% at the exam because I only studied one hour a week. Why not study 3 hours a week then FFS!"
Primarily yes, Klopp has let the quality of our squad slide and is responsible for that. It is also worrying that if Klopp left us, I can't imagine another manager getting this squad into the top 6. We're vulnerable at the moment, I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, why we haven't signed certain players and why we have kept some dross that we have. Klopp certainly must have his reasons. But yes, Klopp bares the responsibility for our squad being weak, but the gradual weakening.started before that during the Brodgers era.
