The decent thing would have you taking down the offensive attempt at political gain over the recent atrocity. As part of the clique I did not expect you to rise to the occasion. My comment was much milder than it should have been.
I stopped posting on the political threads when it became obvious that it has a core of people who loathe the Tories and who complain about SH while doing exactly what they accuse him of doing. A new low has been reached though when a Moderator threatens to pull a post that objects to a vile tweet that makes political capital out of Monday's tragedy while not even stopping to condemn the post containing the tweet. I should not be surprised at the pack mentality closing on SH yet again but it seems that a new poster who clearly is looking at the posts from an independent position is also attacked. I await one or two other absent posters here joining their gang and defending the indefensible and picking on those two - and probably me as well now. I sincerely wish I had not started this thread and if I had the power to delete it I would.
Ed, I am not new. I gave up posting last year after being continuously abused by the clique and having the face their hypocrisy and double standards that you have noted. I have dipped in on occasions, but their posts regarding the murder of the innocent is just too much to ignore. You need to pay attention more. I am on record here saying Le Pen would be a disaster for France. I supported the fiddling Republican, then Macron. I have never voted for UKIP, I voted Labour in my teens but grew out of it as most people do. I will vote for The Tories as they are the only party fit to govern the UK.
Hold onto your horses Ed. You have not been on here long enough to know the history of the posters you are talking about. Others have tried to 'protect' SH. and have realised their mistake. There is a long history of insults on his side - apparently I have Staasi connections, Fez is a bit of a moron, Yorkie is a ****, BB is a piece of dog's ****, Frenchie is an old fool who is totally inadequate to be a mod, and there are many others. If not doing this then he is angling, provoking, belittling, and generally trying to hook a negative response (and then whines when he does so). I have also never seen anything approaching an apology at any time. You have just caught the end of something which has a long history. The other poster you defend is not a new poster, and is far from being independent ie. he knows all of us on here. Frenchie does a very good job of being a mod - very tolerant (far more than I would be with regard to SH). I agree that the imported material may have been on the border line -but all sides do this - when has any right wing party refrained from scoring political capital when a crime is committed by immigrants ? I have no problem with people on the right expressing their opinions in a manner which encourages debate - in fact, everybody on here is to the right of myself. If we could just start debating the actual policies of the different parties then we might have a real debate - but it never happens. I would like to see one person on the right actually attack Labour's policies, rather than only making sly remarks about Trotskyists, or personally ridiculing Corbyn.
