I'm not doubting it's the right thing to do. But equally, I feel that plod will have had a quiet word in the current environment. A parade like that with the associated crowds is an open invitation to these nutters.
That's a defeatist attitude in my opinion and completely ignores the role that the west has to take in engaging young Muslim men. But as you say, let's agree to disagree.
Yes there would...everyone who pulls a trigger is not religious but more times than not are extremely pissed off? Strip away dirty bastard lying Governments who pillage other countries and any of this **** would not be going down. You are extremely naive if you think people are not driven by feeling wronged in the past.
I am not avoiding anything, I picking out the bits that you conveniently ignore or say ah well it must have been a mistake. At least I am consistent with my view and can see the wrongs from both sides and don't jump with faux outrage only for one group. These are some of the examples below of other faiths that do carry out these acts of violence, I would even put the war's in the name of democracy as terror as its a false pretence and done for greed and those generally are not of any faiths. https://hudson.org/research/4575-hinduism-and-terror https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhism_and_violence https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_Defense_League
I didn't realise the definition of terrorism is defined as around the globe not a terrorist activity! You do talk so some utter bollocks at times, I guess we should wait for you to redefine what terrorism is now...
You didn't DMD did and went to the extent of telling us this isn't Muslim country so have to go the extra mile, so all of sudden because of my faith I have to bow down...
How long do you want to go back? How does this impinge on you something that happened maybe a thousand years ago?
I disagree, the problem arised from Muslims (not Islam) and the West and they both going to have to work on it to get it sorted.
I can't speak for him, but I think he might have chosen his words poorly in that exchange. My view on what he was trying to get across, was that there shouldn't be any whataboutery attached to the condemnation i.e. it should be unequivocal.
We do disagree. The US has funded and fanned the flames of war from Syria to North Africa, throughout the Middle East into Asia, and along with the UK, still sells arms to brutal dictatorships throughout the world. And all in the name of 'one nation under god'
I'm not fussy I'll go back just my own lifetime that's within my own living memory...however it probably does **** a few people off when they see the **** their parents went through...so maybe I might go back a little bit further too. How far back would satisfy you considering we still commemorate WW2(and rightly so)? My point is not to justify the killing of innocents..but to put the fact out there that I can guarantee you it's a bit more than which faith anyone follows. That is all.
That's fine, but you should not judge anything before actually knowing the full facts, there are even Atheists who would disagree with your views of religions or Islam from history. These terrorism is a recent phenomena and more to do with geopolitics than anything else to be honest. The Theist are the ones that passed on the enlightenment Europe and theu co-existed, its the human nature that is cause of it all, greed and power.
