That's a small sliver of something hopeful. I hope he takes it, I've said previously how much I rate Shaun and he could be a really useful player for us next season. He's not great off the bench, but as an impact sub at 60 minutes he could really make a difference. Plus a great free kick taker.
On the contrary, it suggests to me that we don't expect Mason to return in the next year. It's also really interesting that we're offering deals to ageing players with no manager in place.
Brilliant reply to City's tweet about the released players... Alex Bruce @AlexBruce84 Alex Bruce Retweeted Hull City Thanks for letting me know!! All the best please log in to view this image
Didn't take long to get spotted... SportsJOE @SportsJOE_UK Alex Bruce has been released by Hull City and he's just found out via Twitter. Oops.
I said that's where he plays, I didn't say it's where he should play. He has played that role more for us than any other position. Maloney isn't just a wide player either so not sure what your point is.
Mason isn't a wide man, Phelan was the only person to ever play him there and it was because some wise crack decided that it would be clever to have no wingers in the squad. Mason's predominately a holding midfielder and that's where he's played all his career.
I think his point is that Maloney's played almost his entire career as a left winger and Mason has played almost all his as a central midfielder, it's a stretch to say they play in the same position just because they occasionally have played elsewhere. Maloney's offer of an extra year will have nothing to do with Mason's situation.
To describe Maloney as a left winger is the same as describing Mason as one. Almost every game I've seen him play for us he has got between the lines in a central position. And we'll see about Mason won't we?
I said he'd 'played almost his entire career as a left winger', he's played barely any of that career at Hull City.
I don't think this is really a secret (though it was supposed to be), but... Matt Dean@mattdeanradio Told Moses Odubajo has suffered an injury setback. He's awaiting scan results on his knee. Fears he could be out until the winter.
He should learn to read - his contract expired - I assume he knew that - just cos daddy used to do everything for him doesn't mean everyone else will
We're currently having the piss ripped out of us by every football publication in England, you might think that ****ing off Alex Bruce is a good enough reason to act like ****s, but you'll be on your own.
