Heard a story on radio 2 earlier, a man who's family was due to be there tonight , heard what had happened and was so relieved that it wasn't the night of their concert ... Then when he went into the kitchen and looked at the tickets , they had ****ed up the dates and wrote the wrong date on the calendar , and they should have been at last nights concert , what a mixture of emotions that must bring

Have listened to the coverage in between jobs today. Some of the stories are amazing how people helped and comforted the casualties. I have cried for people I will never know.

    Heartbroken.

I am not angry with the person who did this. I am angry because someone fed him with the desire to do it. I am angry because we will never punish those that engage in terrorism, when we can. I am angry because I can do so little to prevent it happening again.

My mrs' cousin took his 18 year old daughter and her friend to the concert.
He was waiting outside for them when it went off.
Straight in and managed to locate them and get them out.
    Thank god they were ok.
He says he's still shaking now
With possibly quite a few speeding tickets heading his way

I see that the named suspect was on the radar and known to police, shame they couldn't stay one step ahead.

People are already doing the fighting. Any potential boots on the ground from NATO forces will make things worse, not better. Learn from the mistakes of the past.

You are reading something in my post that isn't there and trying to make a point that has no place on this thread.

I am angry about death and injury brought about by terror, I wish I had the means to stop this kind of attack happening, it angers me that I as an individual cannot do anything to prevent it happening again.

There was some comments I read a while ago from someone who escaped Mosul and defected to the west. He was asked what do the terrorists want. He said they want the bombing of their positions to stop. Now, that's a bit bullshit because they were doing this stuff long before NATO started really targeting them. But the fact that apparently that's what they really wish for tells you we are winning and it's thanks in part to the actions of our military. I fully agreed also with your earlier post that they will lose before long due to the Kurds, who are being assisted by NATO.

the problem is how do you stop people who are living in this country, accessing radical propaganda online/mosques etc who then essentially get brainwashed and commit these atrocities

there is a very hard way but i don't think it would be supported, anyone with even a remote link to any radical groups/known to the police like this bomber was, ship them to guantanamo bay, we are too much human rights unfortunately

but i think all this talk about why/how to stop it should be halted for now, it's far far far too raw at the moment

You're ex-army, aren't you? Go to Rojava and join the YPG. Your military experience would be welcomed. Aside from that you can't really do anything.

My opposition is to boots on the ground from NATO, that includes Turkey, who have already invaded northern Syria and are attacking the Kurds. The YPG have al-Raqqa surrounded. Their days in Syria are numbered and the Peshmerga and Iraqi army are surrounding Mosul.

My earlier post was deleted, so I'm guessing it wasn't you.
