I love this forum, it is a bastion for rationalism and reasoning among a sea of kneejerk and not seeing the bigger picture Saints fans. I truly hope that Les Reed sees this.
I must admit earlier this year I was CETAIN we would get relegated & I was CERTAIN Puel was not the man .
Happy to admit being 100% wrong on the first point , not 100% on the second , but I think he deserves a second season ( or part of ) .
My point is , when it comes to the actual realities of running a club etc I know **** all

Dear Mr Puel
I just wanted to write you a short note to say “thank you” for the season just gone. I’m writing this on behalf of a lot of people from the not606 Southampton forum and their names or pseudonyms (which is why some are very strange!) are listed below.
I’ll be honest, I predicted that we’d finish 13th (apologies for the lack of confidence!) so I’m over the moon that we finished 8th and the joy of going to a Wembley final will live with me for years. We could so easily have won the cup that day as well…
I just want you to know that proper Southampton fans do not boo or abuse the players or manager and I’m disgusted with the actions of some so-called supporters over the last few weeks. You certainly do not deserve any abuse, especially considering the injuries and player losses you have had to deal with.
I enjoy the emotion you show when we score and though it would have been nice to see more goals, no-one can accuse you of lacking in passion!
Thanks for Anfield, thanks for Wembley, thanks for always keeping your dignity. And thanks for playing Hesketh, Sims, McQueen, Stephens and Targett. Whatever the future holds for the club, the players and yourself, I wish you the best with heartfelt thanks.

You're probably only on 49 because people haven't seen what you're upto, or don't know what they're putting their name to, or don't want to be overly fawning. But you appear to have struck a nice note there. Add my name if you haven't already. That makes it an even 50 so far - which by the way isn't that impressive when you consider we have well over several thousand members, so I would just say 'and the rest of the Southampton Not606 forum' after the names.

I have translated it into French using a mixture of my knowledge of what French people say, Google Translate and my own knowledge, so it's probably got errors, for which I apologise. I've added Inter, by the way. I'd like to post it on here rather than just PM it to you in case any other French speakers who would like to throw in their 10 centimes worth! Come on you techies, how do I get a Word document on here?
