Having the youth and pace of Obertan and Sammy against a tired back four containing Bramble and Wes Brown should bode well.

 

If we're relying on someone to score we should play Shola. We need to play the game and the occasion if we want a result. Shola is a bigger figure in the dressing room and understands the passion of the derby more than anyone.

Would you put Sameobi as an out and out striker? I'd rather he be our left footer cutting in and scoring (ala Robben, for lack of a better comparison).

 

just play shola. it doesn't really matter who else plays with him.

although i'd like to see the line up the OP suggested. pace on the flanks will win the day for me.

 

It's good on paper but that formation, especially with Obertan, leaves Simmo very exposed.

 

Have to remember we are the away team. Pace on the counter by all means but do not compromise cover for the defence.

 

That is for me the perfect line up. Unfortunately I can't see Pardew leaving Ba out, but I would really like to see him replaced by Obertan.

 

then replace obertan with Gosling who can actually play at right back. he'll get back and provide cover for simmo. if he runs out of legs in the second half switch him with either marveaux or obertan. but from what ive seen marveaux is quite good at chasing back.

only leave Cabaye out cause its a Derby and i think pace and experience is gna give us a chance here
Simmo was too exposed last match i think moving Jonas over to the right will give him a bit more confidence and protection as Jonas tracks back, plus i think moving him over to his right foot will improve delivery!!
