I only say what I have been told. If I knew everything I wouldn't be working as a PT for a living, I would be some guy getting paid for Saints news.
I'm pretty sure Beefy has earned his credibility here ten times over by now. He's also hardly a griper, so if he says someone is going, it's because they're going. We do this every summer, and every summer he's right.
As of now Bertrand wants to go. He fell out with Puel and has had his head turned by bigger clubs. All we can hope is the new manager/ board can chance his mind. But as it is, he has one foot out the door.
Yeah, didn't mean to suggest that you were saying that Bertrand's 100% a goner. Just that, in previous years, I believe that every player you have stated conclusively was being sold did indeed end up departing, with the exception of Cuco (and Pied's injury was the confounding factor there).
I thought McQueen did very well when he played. Depending what else we do in the transfer market I might be okay with him replacing Bertrand. Targett seems to have moved back ahead of him though (although that's obviously in Puel's opinion and that may not count for much). Can't imagine why anyone would question what Beefy says.
I would look to replace as well. No slight against Targett or McQueen intended, but we've seen what a difference it makes when you have excellent two-way fullbacks.
Not seen it mentioned, but was quite telling how disjointed the lap of appreciation was. Players coming out at different stages. Bertrand pretty much on his own with his kids. Appreciate trying to get kids together is like hearding cats, but you'd think they would have been reasonably together
Why wouldn't City want him? They need a left back and he's English so ups their English born players quota.
Well I would presume the key is to learn from the mane fiasco and not sell him quickly but wait to see what the markets prices are like this summer. Selling him for 20m now and seeing walker go later on for 40m would show we haven't learnt a thing.
