A guest on Sports talk on RH said he heard someone in pub saying if Silva went to Southampton it would be s step down for him. What planet do some of our fans live on?
This just about echos what I heard from the Golf Pro in the taxi on the way from the snooker club yesterday.
It wasn't a caller, it was one of the guests.Didn't catch his name as only caught a snippet whilst I was in car.
Hell of a step though. A giant step for a man...to quote someone involved, according to some, in a massive conspiracy.
The thing about Southampton is what more can they achieve, they sell all their best players they don't spend massively so in all honesty they've peaked
They have a good academy set up. They have good training facilities, which they own. . They have a larger stadium, which they averaged 30,936 in compared to our 20,761, which meant they had 94.6% of capacity compared to our 81.1%, the worst capacity percentage in the division. Nice area outside Southampton with a lot more pleasant places not far away than Hull. Yes, it would be a tough choice for anyone.
They sell all their best players, but they replace them with very good ones, if there was any club going to gatecrash the European places next season, I'd expect it to be them.
Southampton may have the great Academy but they also spend big bucks when they feel the need - it's a myth that they don't. Gabbiadini £14.6 mill, Forster £10 mill, Dick Van Dyke £11.5 mill, Plastic Bertrand £10 mill, Tadic £11 mill, Boufal £16 mill, Shane Long £12 mill, Phil Redmond £10 mill ...... there are others!
**** Southampton it's certainly not worth tit for tat. Southampton is obviously a more attractive proposition than us. And with regards to the area Southampton is a complete **** hole.
Southampton have great prospects and Hull have zero prospects that will continue until new and better ownership is sorted, That is the reality of the situation....Now if you was Silva who himself has great potential what would you do.....Hull are a shambles at the moment and it will take a brave manager who will think is it worth taking the job on.......The problems run much deeper than the managers position it starts with the top job of ownership....
