Phil McNulty (BBC) season review... Hull City - 18th please log in to view this image Manager Marco Silva on his Hull City future: "It is a difficult decision. I have something in my mind and need to see what is best for me as well as the club." Doomed from the start as manager Mike Phelan was operating with barely a squad and his hands tied. Marco Silva's arrival galvanised the Tigers but he could not replicate excellent home form on Hull City's travels. So it is back to the Championship - in all probability without their excellent manager. McNulty's pre-season prediction: 20th What he said: "Long, hard season ahead and the signs do not look good." Managerial mark: Mike Phelan - 4/10; Marco Silva - 6/10 Stat: Because of their opening-day victory against Leicester City, Hull City spent one more day on top of the Premier League than Tottenham Hotspur did in 2016-17. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39991517 Others who scored a 6/10 included Guardiola, Mourinho, Pulis, Mazzarri and Puel.
What are peoples thoughts about remi garde as a coach? Joined a cluster **** at villa But had some joy with lyon in the french league
I'm pretty sure that if its not Marco it will be some other hitherto unknown foreign manager, unless Wagner comes into the frame perhaps. Escab did say that they were done with the managerial merry go round but a week is a long long time in his head so that could well have changed.
I dont get this "Wednesday" thing. The season's over, he's known for weeks/months that we're likely to be relegated and must have made his mind up ages ago. So whats so important about Wednesday? Is it to perhaps give the impression of him giving the job serious consideration?
If the owners want to show some intent. Either Jokonovic or Wagner (if Hudds dont go up) both have done brilliant jobs.
Silva's now favourite to take over from Puel, who's about to get the elbow, possibly as early as tomorrow.
Huge difference of opinion on the Saints site... Some saying Puel should be given more time... and others saying Marco Silva 'no thank you'..
According to someone who knows something about things... He is certain to go. Not a chance whatsoever of him staying. The meeting Wednesday is to debrief and offer his help in what needs to be done and his options for the club to improve. There is no chance of a deal to turn him. End of.
