If we had a Welsh manager or one that had come from a Welsh team and lots of people shouted "F** off taffy" or "F*** of back to taffyland" or started doing the old "Sheep Sh**ger" chant whould you think that they hated Wales or Welsh people? Stupid comments when the reality is they are probably mates with Welsh people and been there on holiday many times enjoying the country. There isn't a need to reference a locality here but too many are reading it as a direct insult because of that person's nationality or links. "F*** off back to skateland Harry." Exactly the same thing.
I think when someone shouts "F*** *** back to "Froggy Land" gives the one hurling the abuse an apparent and false sense of superioity. And if someone is a genuine lover of France (Godders for example) I do not think such a term would enter his head. I wonder how many of yesterday's neanderthals are able to speak in French at the same level that Puel is able to communicate in English? I suppose it is a question of definition. I also think it has to be taken in the context of the conversation at the time. Huh......... especially as one of the guys in question is married to a very delightful French lady. I accept looking at the cold conversation I can understand how it could be interpreted but I know it was a reference to his style of football not his Nationality. As I said I really haven't heard anything attacking his nationality. Or should I say that I have interpreted to be such. Without exception most that I have spoken to quite like him as a person just not his style........

Whilst the bickering is frustrating, I'm strangely, quite enjoying this melt-down amongst us. Normally we're melting down because our best players are being sold or we're not signing players of a certain calibre. This end result of this meltdown means we either keep a manager who has done an OK job, or we end up with a new manager who could potentially do a better job. In the history of SFC meltdowns, this isn't too bad a meltdown!!
And to begin Cher Claude Je te voudrais ........ We could write the letter in French and English!! I think Claude would see the funny side!!
