Where you've gone wrong with Moyes this season is you haven't had enough Moyes Out banners. Also you haven't set up a web site to get him out or handed out A4 bits of paper demanding his resignation, nor have you had a billboard outside of your ground on match day trying to get him sacked. ****ing amateurs.
Just been thinking about this. We know that Moyes was initially led to believe there would be decent money to spend because he later complained when there wasn't. The season ends, he has a meeting with Short and afterwards states he'll be manager next season. I don't think highly of Moyes but I don't believe he's enough of a mug to fall for the same line about having cash to spend twice, I think when he made the statement about staying on he was fully aware of the financial situation. He might quit for other reasons but I don't think the lack of a substantial budget will be one of them.
Not an exact science but the success of a manager coincides closely with the amount spent on the team, Moyes was unable to be an exception to this rule , lets hope before signing anyone next season he checks that they have balls first
Has Moyes not spunked £30m or so on a squad which needed a couple of signings and made an absolute mess of it? I really don't get this he had no money story that keeps doing the rounds. Bit like at Everton everyone said he done it on a shoe string budget, he spent £16 on that Russian fella (I'm not even going to attempt to spell his name correctly) who wasn't much of a success, about £12m on Andy Johnson who was only good at diving and scoring the resulting penalties the season before at Palace, Yakubu went for a fortune, I could go on. Either way, I'm not fussed if he stays and I'm not fussed if he go's.
Not much though is it in this climate. 30m. Especially if a squad needs about 80-100m of investment. We've just sold a pap leftback for 13m. He's ****e like but he's had a pittence to spend imo.
relegation all part and parcel of the game ,in the past few seasons yes we turned it around against big odds ,again thats football, the big difference for me is that lack of spirit and fight this time ,there lays a big problem for me with DM ,i firmly believe he has not got that ability to inspire some ordinary players to perform not better skill wise but with spirit and belief.
I don't think Moyes has any choice. He is almost unemployable now with his record at his last 3 clubs. Who would want him. If he's told there is £0 for transfers he still has to accept it if he wants to stay as a football manager. If he goes then he's finished in football or maybe he will become a pundit.
Our spending was around the 10th-12th highest if I remember right, for a team that lost twice in the last 11 if memory serves me right that's abysmal!
I'm not so sure Charley. I think if he walks he'll wait a while then do full-spread interviews about how he was sold a pup, how he was given no time to build "his" squad, how the squad he inherited was ravaged by long term injuries, blah, blah, blah. He'll forget the bad tactics, gloss over the crap signings........ My money's on him punditing next season but it wouldn't surprise me to see him at another club next season. That's all assuming he leaves ours....
Moyes has sapped the will and belief out of the players and drained the enthusiasm of the fans. The man's a bluddy vampire.
