I honestly can't think of anyone realistic who I'd approve of. I can see it being Joyce.

I wonder if we fully paid off Phelan or could we bring him back in the Italian style?

I know the end of the season has been very disappointing, but who else would there be to get in?

If Silva wants to stay then I think that's best for everyone. And it would ensure a much more stable pre-season than last year, just by virtue of having a manager in place who you know you're starting the season with.

Big season next year, it's gonna be tight and a slog and we have to be properly prepared for it. I maintain that the club was negligent in its preparations this season and frankly didn't take it seriously, if the owners want promotion again then that has to change.

If Marco is in, give him the nod, agree on a transfer kitty and plan, and move forward. If not, then I think we risk a similar circus to last year. If we can avoid that then we absolutely must, to voluntarily leave ourselves exposed and managerless because of the end of the season results would be a damaging error, IMO.

If we had owners who gave a f'ck and actually wanted the club to go places I would love to have young Eddie Howe here, but given who we have in charge I would expect he is as far away from Hull as he wants to be right now.

Silva won't stay. At the moment he's still got his success in Europe to point at. He's also got the excuse of being brought in too late at City. He knows if he stays and City fail to impress in the Championship he will lose credibility and his ambitions of being at decent Premiership Manager are over.

**** me. Consolation here is that pre appointing Bruce, Kevin Blackwell was well touted as well as some other turds like Megson.

For me, within the realms of realism, the best outcome would be Silva.

Fail that, I'd look at Alexander of Scunthorpe (who must be attainable) and I'd highly consider Karanka too. He should have learnt from this season and he can organise well.

Probably right. We did fall apart in those last few games mind and that won't have been missed by some clubs looking for a quick fix ..unless a deal has already done maybe?

Adkins is weird. Reminds me of Derek Acorah.

At least if he goes it is likely to be by the end of next week so chance to get someone in early and do a full pre season.
    Edit...no idea who with though.

Shouldn't that be the norm though? Knowing City they would give Phil Brown another 6 weeks off to work on his f'king suntan. :)

I think the last 3 games will take the sting out of Silva walking away for a few people.

We completely collapsed since losing to Sunderland, when it was in our own hands. Silva has to take some responsibility for that. Yes he's been great since he came here and done a number of wonderful things for us but he still let us go out in the worst possible way.

If .. and it's a massive IF .. MS does stay (personally think he's on his bike out of here) I sincerely hope he ditches the whole zonal marking thing at set pieces.. been shown over the time he has been here that it just doesn't work .. I would be happy to see him stay .. failing that I wonder if Huddersfield fail at Wembley whether we could entice Wagner

It's the traditional form of dismissal. They're sacked but not paid off so essentially on gardening leave. This saves clubs money as if the sacked coach wants to work again he has to sever ties without his contract being paid up. This also has the effect of if their replacement doesn't work out they're often brought back.
