I'm old enough to remember Dalglish in his pomp - some games he was garbage. Nonetheless, he is our 'skill' player, and we must indulge him. Means the other nine outfield players must work harder - so be it.
Tbf i think Sturridge has provided excellent movement in the last two games, even when not on form he is a threat. I think our performances against the lower teams has been much better with him an as option. Either way we need a top striker, but if we can get 20 games + out of stude i would not sell, maybe switch to pay per play on his contract
Well charming, i get proper stressed watching our lot No worries got a plan b Gonna get a job as a steward at goodison (or new ground) No chance of me encountering anything football related there
They were lame, weren't they? Not much changes! Question: if the Scum win the Europa will there be 5 in the CL or does someone lose out?? ie us????
I don't see your face on that picture Wishi. You didn't feel like joining in? I suppose someone had to instruct them how to do it.
Anyway, my ratings: Migs: 7 As someone else has said, the most improved player in our team, and possibly the league. Up against two big lads but got himself off his line to punch and catch when needed. Lucky they were ****e the couple of chances they had though. Clyne: 5 Our most unimproved player. Mediocre going forward, witless in defence. One more season to get back to the outstanding fullback we had in his first season I say. Milner: 8 Our MOTM. Captain's steadying hand when needed. Let's see what he can still do on the right of a midfield when we get a good LB. Lovren: 3 Jeez, he nearly ****ed it up the arse for everyone. If we ditch Klavan, keep him as our fourth choice, otherwise bizarre decision to give him a new contract without waiting until the close season. Matip 6: Looked iffy today, truth be told. Needs to play with another top class CB. Can: 6 Better in the second half then first. Still disappears for whole chunks of the game. Windy: 7 Same as Can, but redeemed himself with his goal. Ford: 8 Patience is the key with the little guy. Frustrated in the first half and one-or-two bad choices in the second. Head and shoulders the most quality on the pitch though. Lalla: 6 Did little offensively or defensively in the first half. Better luck as spaces opened up for him Studge: 6 Couple of flicks, but little room in the first half. Disappointed that he camped himself down the middle for large parts where their seven centre-backs could easily contain him. Firminho: 7 Nice ball for the first, important goal, and continuous movement, as you'd expect. Hopeless shooting in the first half just seved as back passes. Subs: Lucas 10. Why not? Origi: 5 Pointless, really. Team: 6.5 Job done, but made the usual hard work of it. Klopp: 7 We're not in the CL yet, but let's hope we get in players BEFORE the play-off, rather than leaving it unitl the end of August when we could, draw depending, be out of it.
Great result today, the boys did the business, that's all you can ask given the situation and what's happened this year Back in the big time babyyyyyyyyy !!!! Whole new ball game next season now (just about) And great to see Arsenal deservedly shoved out the useless bunch of wasters hahahahahahahahaha
Thoroughly enjoyable Sunday 76 points is good going and there is clear progression. Couple of top additions nice and early and we can look forward to next season
Gonna enjoy today But then - start to worry about those games as we all know what we are like when we are supposed to win and Balo is in there...
Some potentially tricky ties in there. Bucharest, or young boys would be decent for us. Or the random Turkish team that never heard of, Istanbul Basaksehir?
Indeed, but far better than being unseeded, Wow, I mean IF we get enough players in before the qualifier - tell you what though, don't be in a rush to sell Studge, Moreno, etc UNTIL we have replacements and/or we're actually through the qualifier. Not complacent, but this day gets better. And then I made the foolish decision to catch up on Three Girls (and I don't mean the porn version) and now I feel crap again.
#harsh IMO Always looked a threat while the rest of the team looked like they might settle into the old tough game routine. Almost banged in a great goal from nothing. Won the free kick that Coutinho scored by dancing around their defence.
Right. Time to move onwards and upwards. Am glad we got CL football but we've won nothing. Straight onto the transfer rumours thread then And the Utd Europa league match thread
