From where we were earlier in the season its a disappointment, but as a club its a massive success. We have been going nowhere for a long time and other than the brilliance of Suarez playing for us and getting champions league for one season, we would almost be forgotten. To once again return to the champions league and with a very thin squad and no particular Suarez profile players, is a great achievement.
Good stuff that. Season of what ifs... if we hadn't had that awful Jan could have been with Spurs challenging.. if we hadn't thrown away silly points at anfield could have walked 3rd given city's results in the last month. Still, 4th place, hopefully some exciting signings from Klopp and fingers crossed for proper CL footvall next year.
We benefited from our referees "no balls to make a match changing decision" character. For once it did benefit us. But I don't sense a lot of excitement from this achievement (getting 4th place). We had to do it and we did.
Don't think we have been pushing Chelsea for the title since November, tbh, but after the December we had many of us thought we should have been doing what Spurs achieved, I think. Yeah, we were never going to get 90-odd points, so hats off to Chelsea, but we should have got 80 with the first half we had. That said, at 30 seconds before half time I'd have accepted a play-off against a combined Barca/Real/Bayern team. Let's see who we get in the play-offs.
F#ck me, I felt sick to the stomach for 45 minutes. Am glad we got the second early in the second half....it too all the pressure off. Boro can be aggrieved they didn't get a penalty and had a few chances where a better finisher would have had a couple tbh. Am just glad we played them and not a team with a decent striker. Lovren looked nervous as hell at points. He's back up at best. We can't go into next season with a back line that coughs up goals like ours.....although I get that it was a clean sheet today. Otherwise I have to tip my hat to Klopp, I think he's made mistakes but he's taken a small average squad into 4th ahead of much bigger spenders. Now go buy some real players please YNWA

Aye. Klopp must take credit for doing quite well with a thin squad decimated by injuries but also must take blame for not dealing with that thinness in the first place. Hope he sorts it now. But the time is for satisfaction that we've got champions league football for next season. That's something we need as a club. Forwards and upwards.
well nervy first 45 but ended well. this summer transfer window is going to be vital particularly considering the spending likely by the Manc clubs plus Arse. We really need to build on this & try to establish ourselves as a regular fixture in the top 4 .
