    We've smashed the lowest points total for 8th place. Absolutely no wasted effort. As an inherently lazy person I'm sort of proud.

    Anyway, well done everyone, except those who are totally unable to control their emotions. It's been a tough 53 games, hopefully we can build on it.

    Still think Claude should get a normal season to make his mark. This has not been normal, with the injuries, sales and other problems.

    I don't know where I stamd on that. This has been the most tedious football I have seen at St. Mary's. That purple patch playing 4-2-3-1 is what upset me. Why did we abandon it? The only bright couple of weeks all year!

    It is kinda perfect in some respects...a warning shot against the bow, but doesn't really cost us a substantial penalty in league places (or any money in merit payments).

    Not Puel's fault that Butland stood on his head today, but getting blanked in five consecutive home matches and five of six overall is somewhat untenable. Cheque, please.

    We weren't actually bad today, we were denied by Butland who had a string of superb saves.

    Pied played a good part of his career as a wing so I'm not surprised that Puel tried that.
