Here are a few ideas that Clegg would do well to take on board, if anyone fancies putting them to the club:

    1) The crowd will affect performances on the pitch.

    2) Cut prices to fill the stadium.

    3) Not one Town fan doesn't understand that the club needs to make money and that we want the club to be profitable.

    4) Season ticket strategy: A new approach to pricing: Season tickets priced dependent on sales relating to targets - e.g. sell 25,000 and the price is halved for everyone, sell 20,000 and a third is knocked off the price.

    5) Get dirt cheap season tickets in of a hundred quid for kids provided there is one adult one sold per two kids - their mums and dads will buy more adult ones to come with them and the kids will buy adult ones in the future.

    6) Experiment with Matchday pricing - slash the prices in half and see if it doubles the number of matchday tickets sold.

In short - think of ways Clegg that we can fill the stadium taking a minimum hit to Evans' pockets. There is no point having those empty seats, we may as well fill the stadium and make the same money.

Have a go at it - if it doesn't get bums on seats then no-one will have any objection to paying full whack because at least we can see some effort!

If it costs us five million quid in lost revenue over a season to fill the ground then the buzz to the rest of the squad will be worth far more than signing someone and paying their wages!

Let people in for free - then charge them to get out!

Yorkie all your suggestions are valid but the bottom line is that people will only start coming back to Portman Road once the team starts to play decent attractive football on a regular basis. It is afterall supposed to be an entertainment industry but with the dross we have been served up with over the last 3 or 4 years you can't blame people for voting with their feet.

we need a win win formular to get people back to portman rd. one way to do that is buy quality players they are out there so if you want to put bums on seats SPEND your money and the crowds we drift back in unlike what they are doing at the moment if only all things in life were simple

The club needs waking up. We are in danger of stagnating. We have made some good signings but overall the squad is no stronger than last season. Playing pretty football without being near the top of the table is not going to get the stadium full.

Sign Messi, Ronaldo, Bale and Vidic, that may help to put bums on seats!!

Basically, we need the Norwich marketing lad from the 90's in to sort our tickets out.

He cleverly targeted families instead of individuals for season tickets. That really would help......

    The short answer is-

    * Been in this division since 02/03
    * Too expensive

Success brings gates. Sadly, peoples confidence and hunger to go to games will wane if we're not playing great football and aren't high up the table.

WCP, two in games into ANOTHER season of the same. I think that's the difference. Perhaps there are those who are more than a little nervous that we may have another season of disappointment and the drop in attendances will therefore continue to spiral.

Irrespective of what we may or may not achieve on the pitch this season (and yes there's a long way to go yet) I do agree that we should be looking to attract more people to matches and boost support for the club. No panic, but surely an area which we could address now.

We have to some how rediscover our home form and pretty damn quick! I never thought I would hark back to the Magilton era but who remembers his first season when we only lost 1 league game at Fortress Portman Road! We went on an amazing winning run at home that season but then again we were ****e away! Every home game now is just such a nervous affair with the players sensing it from the crowd. The longer the game goes without us scoring the nerves begin to creep in just like Hull the other day. I am not panicking yet but if we lose to Southampton tonight (which I think is more than likely) the alarm bells will surely start ringing!

Totally agree Rushie, i think unless you have a capacity crowd week in week out you should be looking at attracting people.

All i meant was let give the manager and players time we have basically a new team so i think we should give them a little time to settle in and get to know each others style of play and such.

Thats the old chicken & egg situation. We need a capacity crowd to get the team playing well but we wont get a capacity crowd until the team plays well!
