See they have agreed to keep the same format in the daft cup otherwise known as the Checkatrade trophy. With the clubs hands being tied as to who can play maybe they should seek to drop out of the competition until they either play a sensible format or discontinue it. Portsmouth and ourselves got punished for not adhering to the rules but I thought the idea of having Squads was that you could play those players without being accused of playing a weakened team. We and Portsmouth were punished under that rule but when Huddersfield played a weakened team against a relegation threatened club in a league fixture and lost the game it was acceptable, just strikes me of double standards
