Typical Bayern, 4-2 down after 84 minutes and they go and win 5-4. They really do need more competition in the Bundesliga though, as soon as they meet a top team in the Champions League they are out.
Glued to website (uk.soccerway.com) for updates! At least the Bundesliga has the good sense to have all the fixtures for the final two weeks with the same kick-off times. Gotta agree about the upgrade from the Bundesliga to Champion's League quarter finals onwards. These ties are decided on small and distinct chances, decisions and players being able to give that extra two or three percent. We have missed penalties and suffered some ropy decisions however the four recent 'failures' lie fairly and squarely at the door of my club. I posted an extensive article on a club website about this aspect and suggested my wish for the next coach; Diego Simeone. Better stop here or I will end up repeating most of the 'essay' I posted on the other site! Anyway, got to catch up on last night's 'Letzte Spur: Berlin' and the delightful Josephin Busch!
Many years ago remember having a conversation with an oil company (soon to retire after a long career in the industry) Purchasing Vice-President, when, over a few beers after work, he remarked, "You know, in business and life in general, you will find there are the Screwees and the Screwors!" A bit of casual drollery of course, but on reading this, the old boy had a point? http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-39900362 "Czech Agriculture Minister Marian Jurecka is sceptical about the producers' claim to be catering for different regional tastes." Me too, in this particular case, a crap statement from the food producers?
My all time favourite miler. Hicham El Guerrouj winning gold in Athens. He took the lead at the 800 and ran ever increasing 100m sectionals until the final 100m. You can him actually see him changing gears. Brilliant. The race commentary was pretty decent as well.
A quite outstanding 'own goal' to start your weekend off! The YouTube site itself shows quite a few unbelievable 'own goals'. Even Munich's David Alaba does not escape attention in his younger days.
Sweet Jesus Kenny, they must draw a decent crowd to watch horses jumping from roof top to roof top. please log in to view this image
Think I might be doing some 'roof jumping' if cash runs a wee bit light! Think the 'Grand Steeplchase de Paris' is one of the top four attended/betting races in France so will have to take it easy on Sunday morning!
I know that I am “old world” man because I do not do political correctness, but am I the only one that sees disproportionate representation of puffs and queers on TV? The fake news is the fake news, so anybody can read it no matter their sexuality. However, it seems surprising that every time I watch Casualty there seems to be some male/female doctors/nurses snogging colleagues of the same sex. It almost makes me think that I should start paying for private medical insurance (as well as my N.I. contributions) because the NHS is state subsidised arse bandits and minge munchers.
Shearer spot on with his assessment of John Terry's contrived ending after 26 minutes at Chelsea today. Oppo agree to kick the ball out at the requisite time so that Chelsea players can give him a guard of honour off the pitch. What absolute bollox that was.
Sweden shock Canada in Final of World Ice Hockey Championships in Cologne after penalty shootout. Finland grab the bronze from the USA. Final was a terrific game ending 1-1 at full time: http://www.t-online.de/sport/eishoc...en-gewinnt-finale-in-koeln-gegen-kanada-.html
Chan, how can you complain about that? Chelsea already champions, Sunderland already relegated. A game that meant nothing. Both teams agreed it would be a fine gesture to salute 20 odd years of dedication to Chelsea and however many years as captain of Chelsea and England. I gather there were a lot of complaints, including Shearer on Match of the Day. I'm certainly no Chelsea fan (don't even like Chelsea) but FFS what is all the fuss about?
Terry has been an incredible defender and a loyal servant to his club and deserves all the accolades he receives but.... to prearrange yourself to get a standing ovation and a guard of honour from your team mates shows how far up his own arse he is! A gesture like that should come from your team mates, not yourself, wouldn't been a word said if they'd have done it off their own back but to ask for it yourself He probably arranges surprise birthday parties for himself too
I agree with that. Surprised it wasn't. Maybe they asked him what he would like? I don't know; it just seemed a bit of a pointless objection. Obviously Alan Shearer doesn't like the bloke.
