"fans" or spoilt bed wetters ?
KL issued a statement saying that we needed investment to continue moving forward. With that in mind Puel has done a decent if not attractive job.

Real life seems slowly to be becoming like a reality TV show where the masses can get rid of a person with a text or a phone call and like a computer game for people who aspire to becoming a football manager when in reality they can't manage their own lives. It is all rather sad really.

If the rumours of Puel being unhappy here are supposed to be true why is he talking so positively about next season. Goodness knows what the bloke thinks of the English living through this unpleasantly spiteful period. ****ing hell even I don't like the English at the moment given recent events at club level and nationally.

    Different to disagree.

Obviously Puel has played the kids more than Ron did, the facts speak for themselves. But far too many people just stop there. (By the way, this is much more of me being pro-Ron, than anti-Puel.)

Stephens gets in the team when Virgil is injured, and Fonte sold.

McQueen gets in the team when Targett is injured, and Bertrand is injured or rested.

Sims gets involved in the squad when Boufal is inured, or we're rotating. And within a squad that most people acknowledge has not replaced Mane (ie a player who Ron would obviously pick in his squad, and so would Puel if he had him or a replacement).

Reed still can hardly get a game (which potentially says more about Reed, than about Ron or Puel).

These players are a year older. Some of them now with additional experience under their belts from being loaned out last year. I don't see why, when you throw in the injuries, sales and the additional games (domestic cups and Europe), that Ron wouldn't have done something similar this season with us. I don't know for sure, I simply don't. But I am very open to the possibility that he would have done - just look at the kids he is playing at Everton.

Firstly, whilst you do acknowledge that it comes from both sides, you literally could not be any quick enough to throw in the word "but" and then duly proceed to focus just on one side again.

Secondly, I actually disagree with your subsequent point. I know people who groan and moan (but not boo, never boo), but are not asking for Puel out. They are asking for better quality football, and arguably better quality of football players. But not Puel out. Most are though angry at the club and Les Reed for last summer.

As for the view of your Arsenal mate, well that is just a typical neutral view of almost any club (which is to say, completely understandable but not necessarily correct). I'm sure if WBA sacked Pulis tomorrow, most neutrals would be asking what WBA were doing etc. But shock horror, the people who turn up to watch WBA each week are not particularly enthusiastic about what is on display. Flip it around, most neutrals didn't bat an eyelid when Boro sacked Karanka the other month, most likely because those neutrals saw Boro's lowly position in the league. I was pulling my hair out though at what looked like such an awful decision, and the Boro fans were duly singing his name last week. League position is not everything, and neutrals will rarely know or appreciate the overall package.

It will be interesting to see how Ron manages the Everton squad with the Europa games next season.

If it were up to me I'd keep Puel this season.

However, what is starting to piss me off, is people on this forum assuming all those that don't want Puel in charge are not proper fans and are the ones booing.

Do some of you guys not realise that you can think Puel isnt the right man for the club, for whatever reason, and still be a loyal fan of the club and want what is best for us?

Don't group everyone that isn't a fan of Puel into one category. Booing pisses me off as it doesn't help in any way, but it isn't everyone that doesn't like Puel doing it.

Regarding lack of goals, this could well be our lowest goals total since 2001.

If we don't score 4+ it is the lowest since 2004 - that includes each of the relegation seasons.

Whilst I buy the argument of Puel has made us awkward to play against, I don't believe any other team now fears playing us more than they did under Poch or Koeman. In fact for the big teams they can generally go into games knowing that worst case scenario is they draw 0-0.

This may partially be down to what Puel has available to him. Given the defensive situation (VVD, Fonte etc.) the defence has to sit deeper and cover more. Therefore less support to the attacks.
Also we STILL do not have a natuarlly attacking central-midfielder who will lend a hand with goals and assists.

Whilst I feel sorry for him if he does go, I will not necessarily be disappointed ot see someone new come in. The point made previously about pardew and Adkins being replaced was spot on - if the club thinks they can do better then replacing is the right thing, however harsh it may seem on Puel.

Don't be too sensitive. I'm one of those people I think but I didn't say "all" anywhere. It is a statement about my feelings towards a lot of our fans. Imposssible for me to break down the numbers and isolate some from others.

    However

I also think it harsh to be considering the manager not right after one season with all the mitigation that most seem to acknowledge. I am not saying I think he is right, I'm saying it's not fair to judge him after this particular season.

It's not a question of sensitivity really as I am one of the people who thinks Puel deserves another season. It is simply annoying that it seems as if some people are being dismissed completely because they don't want Puel at the club. They are entitled to that opinion just as you and I are entitled to believe he should stay.

I just like to see fair debate and people actually considering the thoughts/reasoning of others rather than instantly dismissing them because they disagree.

I am having a fair debate, I always ask questions and am not dismissing anyone. I am asking questions about attitudes but not always getting answers. Feel free to dislike my honesty, but don't take it as a dismissal of anyone, as harsh as I may be.

Ps. Read your first paragraph again and the first line in you post I replied to.... I'm confused as to whether you want Puell here next season or not. You seemed to have given both answers.... I think :)

Long as you don't boo and your views aren't racist etc. I don't really give enough ****s to get annoyed about it.

Developed a sense of entitlement because they've decided they must be entertained? What a load of bollocks.
Fancy wanting entertainment how thoroughly ****ing selfish of us,I'll work on being ashamed.

Weirdly, I think the big thing that's going to count against Puel is the club mantra that we keep moving forward, keep marching on.

I think it's perfectly natural and normal that a club sits down and reviews the season with a fine tooth comb-I'd be worried if we didn't.

There are mitigating circumstances; VVDs/Chaz's injury, the EL/enforced rotation, not securing another striker, but the one that sticks out for me is the lack of form of key players.

I love Shlongs positive running, but he hasn't had the form needed, Dusan has been consistently poor for me.

If it were me, I would keep Claude with a bit of squad trimming and quality acquisitions.

Get rid of Dusan and Shlong, play JWP just behind Gabbiadini or Chaz and get in a quality midfielder to battle it out with Sofiane.... Sims on the left..

    Thanks Roy, good debate. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Did you have a counter point to make? If you didn't get my point, you could ask for an explanation.

Pray tell,I'm sure you haven't missed mine but if I've missed your point then I apologise.
My "strong" reaction was fuelled by keep reading on here that our fans (whatever that may be) don't understand football etc,(again mostly tosh) and now they want entertaining it's laughable.
