Trouble is can we win and keep the ball with them all on the pitch?
Agree with you about personnel and Puel's tactics, he will need to add to midfield

.... and in which minutes did they score? Who provided the assists? Come on man, less of the woolly generalisation, I want facts!;)

Presumably we can, or else we wouldn't be 8th in the league.

Quite like this new optimistic Ian.

Have you been taking lessons from your avatar btw? A man of few words, was Miles, but when he spoke people listened.

Mostly he let his horn do the talking.

I'm worried. Has anyone reported Ian missing? It's either that or he has broken his hands and it hurts to type. :)

To be honest, I can't believe we will have yet another match without a goal. I had been imaging after the Wembley game that something would eventually click and we would score a hatful. The match against Hull seemed a perfect opportunity to give someone a tonking but this turned out to be the worst game of the season. I wonder if the rumours of Puel's imminent departure are correct, the team disregards his directions and plays with more abandon tomorrow?

Archers - yes, I am a big Miles fans and have more by him than anyone else although I was a bit surprised how many Blue Notes I had when I filed my CDs in order a few months back. Prefer the 2nd quintet and Gil Evans stuff more than anything although "Seven steps to heaven" is probably the one album I find totally under-rated and one if his very best.

We tried something similar already (without Gabby if I remember) it meant leaving out JWP and we were awful, totally unbalanced.

Yep absolutely! It's not about playing with all our "flaire & foward" players but getting the midfield personnel & tactics right. Here's wishing for a win & great end of season performance. We certainly do deserve. COYS

Didn't score a goal in 7 of the last 10 matches though. Impressive.

Remind me? It couldn't have been more than one match.

It's just one change, you would still have two central midfielders on the pitch (Romeu, Davis/JWP). Is having two central midfielders on the pitch considered some crazy offensive formation these days?

When you consider how poor our goals for column has been this season, it actually is quite impressive that we still have a good chance of finishing with 8th and with a positive gd.

Especially considering we played most of the season with a gk struggling for form, & the second half of the season with our two 2nd choice CBs.

Bit the one thing in favour with Puel is that the defensive record is good. I don't think he can be criticised in this respect but the ability to score goals / convert chances has probably been as bad as I can remember since supporting Saints.
