I got internet in my house in February & before I got it, I was threatened with the inspector coming round. I didn't even have a TV for ****s sake, I have just got myself a nice new one on Wednesday & I still haven't watched the ****ing thing other than to test it & watch anything other than the ****ing BBC. So if the op wants to pay for a tv licence for whatever reason, he can pay for mine as I'm being robbed by the bastards.
I suspect the BBC would access a file of active licence numbers which would be provided by the licencing department on say a weekly basis. If someone logging into their iPlayer account has no corresponding active licence number, access to iPlayer would be denied. The BBC should establish a partnership with the VPN provider companies to collect the licence fee as part of the customers' VPN subscription, and funnel it back to the licencing department. As 'bobbyace' above has suggested , an alternative would be to roll-out iPlayer worldwide as a subscription service (essentially the cost of the license fee plus the development cost of the systems required), but would still need the VPN providers on board for funneling the fee payments. There's a big market of ex-pats out there who would be willing to pay for such a "live viewing" service on-line. They should pay for it - me included. It's better than most of the crap you get on TV over here.
He also doesn't understand those "threatening" letters are basically a big marketing scam by C(r)apita.
Just checked my paperwork file..... The last paper licence I received was dated 2012. However on it, it says the government froze the price until the end of 2016 so this licence was valid for four years providing you kept your DD payments up. No mention of 2017 onwards, nor anything received in the post this year. Obviously DD payments continue......
Yes all paperwork organised A-Z date order each in own files. The rest of the house and my dailylife is complete disorganised chaos though
Not sure about the American angle, but we certainly have a lot of licentious members ! Take your pick li·cen·tious /līˈsenSHəs/ adjective 1.promiscuous and unprincipled in sexual matters.synonyms:dissolute, dissipated, debauched, degenerate, immoral, ... more 2.disregarding accepted rules or conventions, especially in grammar or literary style.
https://robssatellitetv.com/ hope this helps. Unsurprising that the govt can change the laws so everyone has to pay the license fee, but can't change the tax laws so the rich can't dodge taxes.
Would be interesting to see how many people could produce a licence issued in this country for a TV, driving, fishing or anything else where there is an s instead of the second c.
