I've become quite formal in my old age it seems...

I'm struggling to put this into words, but I really enjoy spending time on this board. The general ambiance is positive (it helps that the football is good) especially in comparison to other places I lurk on the internet, but it's always been this way, even as far back as old606. Debate is always carried out in a constructive manner and disagreements are carried out civilly in a way that belays modern internet society.

And I want to say thank you to those who messaged me over the last few months, it was nice to be remembered even though it had been so long.

And that's it for soppy comments, it's 100% seriousness from here on out.

If I remember correctly you weren't The Serious Guy on here for that long. Most of us remember you as Ginger Pele or is my memory playing tricks?

You are absolutely correct. In tribute to the best right back cum striker the Irish republic ever produced. I can't remember why I changed my name, but there was a good reason at the time I'm sure.

There's a pretty interesting one from a few days ago too: http://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/exclusive-martin-jol-100m-dele-13040005
There's a lot of things we should thank him for, namely...
    - Converting Verts from a central midfielder to a defender
    - Converting Dembele from a striker to an attacking midfielder
    - Giving Toby and Eriksen their big break
    - Pairing up Verts and Toby

In comparison, Ramos' lasting legacy at the club is...is...anyone?

He laid the foundations for Redknapp in fairness.

"We only had two points from eight games before I came in don't you know?"

Obviously take this with a pinch of salt, but it's not the first time this design has been mentioned.

A very, very odd article caught my eye earlier today. I thought that I must have been licking Toady again. He's my hallucinogenic toad and I've been laying off the toad licking since that incident that you'll have seen in the South London Gazette.

However, after a lie down and two Garibaldi biscuits, the article was still there........Guillem Balague writing that what he really wanted to see was Harry Winks playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid. No explanation as to why, just that he wanted to see it as it would challenge young 'Forty'.

It was a real puzzle until I found out on Google that Guillem is a toad fancier who has a breeding pair of hallucinogenic toads. All of a sudden it makes a weird kind of sense. A fellow toad licker. It's a funny old life sometimes.

I've also seen this design floating around over the past week. Far too similar to the England kit for my liking. I'm worried about the psychological affect putting that shirt on will have for Dier, Alli, Kane, Rose and Walker. After the PTSD they suffered thanks to Hodgson's Travelling Circus, I'd hazard a guess that this is a very clever ploy masterminded by Man City, who are - coincidentally - also manufactured by Nike. Illuminati confirmed. <whistle>

Valentino Rossi drops it on the last lap of a stunning French GP. What a race.

Special mention to my old club Wasps for yesterday's last minute win! Now get back to Wembley!

Josh Onomah started for the England U20 side against Argentina yesterday:

Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Armstrong (Newcastle) and Solanke (Chelsea) got the goals.
Martinez becomes the first player to get a red card because of the video referee.

  16. Good start, although Armstrong rather frighteningly reminds me of Rooney for some reason!! <yikes>

That ****'s been banned next season, apparently.
Makes it more difficult for the officials to spot offsides and the like.

Also makes it difficult to tell if the reason opposition players are
falling to the ground is due to nausea caused by looking at the
    pitch, or Huth-ball elbows.

IPL Final into last 5 overs - and could be an interesting finish.
Pune have wickets in hand, but run rate climbing on a big pitch where it's not so easy to hit fours and sixes.
