I notice that Dennis van Wijk has now crept up in the betting odds for our new HC, just behind Lambert(7/1) and equal with Gary Monk at 11/1. Don't think it'd happen, but interesting all the same.
If SW is true to his word, then it's 12 days and counting. The full betting odds are here: https://www.skybet.com/football/specials/manager-specials
Shouldn't be long now SW said he wanted new HC in place by end of this month. OT But does anyone know when the new 2017-18 kits are being launched?
David Moyes is available!!! Edit - Just been posted on the EDP website - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...th-borussia-dortmund-s-daniel-farke-1-5030026 I'm pretty sure he IS German gandy.
This is the sort HC I expected Webber to go after - an unknown German like Wagner. Know nothing about Farke except what's in the EDP and he plays a 4-1-4-1. Sounds a little too simple, though. I guess we'll know within a week.
Well CS - looks like it could be confirmed this week - 'German media claimed earlier on Monday evening the 40-year-old coach, who succeeded David Wagner as coach of Dortmund’s Under-23s, was a target for the Canaries. The Daily Telegraph’s John Percy reports a deal could be concluded by the end of the week with Farke’s backroom team set to join him at Carrow Road following talks with City’s sporting director Stuart Webber over the past fortnight. Didn't anyone spot him at Dunston Hall, Waitrose/Sainsbury's/Asda car park (delete as applicable). That was certainly kept well under the radar!!!
Couple of comments from Dortmund fans on reddit about Farke: "Wow. Great appointment. He elevated our u23(bvbII) so much. I know we wouldn't be able to keep him but truly has big things ahead of him. One day maybe he gets a chance with our first. We were relegation battlers in regionialliga west to contenders in months" "I think Farke has a bigger future (than Wagner) He is such a hybrid willing to conform his tactics to his opponent. It's the perfect mix between klopp and tuchel. An astute studier of the game and great players manager. Everyone loves him" And if nothing else, the puns write themselves. He'll be Farkeing Brilliant or we'll tell him to Farke off!
Well it's certainly a bolt out of the blue if it happens and as CS said, it's the kind of 'dark horse' from Germany we were told to expect. According to the Telegraph, "Farke has been targeted as a a progressive, forward-thinking coach who will embrace the club's structure and determination to utilise the Academy" and if DH's Dortman fan's comment ("It's the perfect mix between klopp and tuchel. An astute studier of the game and great players manager. Everyone loves him") is true, then it could be something sensational. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.
As Rick just said, this is great to hear. I'm starting to get excited. The Telegraph story also says he turned down newly relegated Darmstadt. Fingers crossed.
