Trying to put all of the pieces together suggests that the final 3 could be Wagner, Rosler and Keller. SW has reiterated that he wants the new HC in place before the end of the month. It's hard to see Wagner in that case as the play-off final isn't until the 29th, leaving two days if Huddersfield lose. If they win, however, it's unlikely Wagner would move anyway. Rosler has consistently been in the frame and he is open to working under a SD. Keller could be the 'dark horse' candidate from Europe given that his odds have dropped from 40/1 to 8/1. Wagner and Rosler have the advantage of knowing the Championship and working with English players, but Rosler's managerial record is mixed. My guess would be that it's now between Rosler and Keller. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...-keller-in-the-frame-for-head-coach-1-5023348
Bu883r - I was going to put 'my money where my mouth is' later today. Yes Cromer - there was a comment on an MFW article on Keller a couple of weeks ago, which I posted on here.
I still think it could go either way. Keller's odds have dropped dramatically. Thanks for the odds update JMF!
Someone on facebook said he was delivering to that Dunstan Hall and saw SW and UR come out and get into a Mercedes car a few days ago!
Interesting, Dave, but I'd be surprised if SW hadn't had talks with all the short-listed candidates. I wouldn't mind either, but I have to say that I'm considerably lowering my expectations for next season, with the way things seem to be going. We seem to be accepting that we're a Championship team for the immediate future and beyond.
I'm sure you're right re SW having had talks with choices and we shouldn't read too much into it. I'm sticking with JK as I think he has more to offer than Rosler.
Dunno About Keller. I think he's a youth orientated type manager, which would be positive. Risky to get a bloke who has only ever worked in Germany.
Possibly so but I'd rather an unknown with a German coaching skill set and mentality than one of the usual suspects that has been on and off the managerial merry go round before
He has also failed this season to get him team promoted from German Division 2. But yes, rather try someone different, than a Pardew or Irvine.
Errm, I think it worked for Huddersfield??? IMO, they were the best team that I saw at CR last season!!! Compliments of Wiki - "Wagner was appointed as Borussia Dortmund II manager with effect from July 1, 2011. He left the role on November 1, 2015, amidst rumours that he was going to join Jürgen Klopp's backroom staff at Liverpool. However, on November 5, 2015, he was appointed head coach of Huddersfield Town following the departure of Chris Powell." I know you'd prefer someone who has experience of managing at least in the Championship as our Head Coach FML and you're entitled to your opinion - wheras I and many other posters would be happy to see JK appointed.
But hasn't worked in the past like with Watford this season. That's why I said "risky", not "no way". Any manager is a risk, but do we even know if this guy can speak English?
Yes, I guess it is a bit of a risk, but that's true whoever comes in and I've no idea if he can speak English
Well, whether it's Herr Keller or Herr Rosler, at least it won't be Herr Majesty who makes the appointment. That would have seen Irvine given the gig the day after AN was sacked
One of the advantages of the SD/HC set-up is that not everything depends on one person. SW knows the Championship well and that made Wagner's situation at Huddersfield easier and would make Keller's appointment less risky. Both Rosler and Keller seem OK to me.
