Showed that you don't need to be from this country let alone the area to have the passion for these games and certainly stood up to be counted thats what you need in these types of games.

Lets hope our lads stand up on saturday and us fans get behind them, form and quality go out the window its all on the day and who wants it most

Personally think Brown and O'Shea (if plays), Cattermole and Sessegnon will be massive for us on saturday

I think last year the pressure put on by Bruce was just too much for them, pardew probably just said, go out and play like you can, the pressure is on them, and we came out like rabbits in headlights.

Too many people played the occasion instead of the game.

If we try to play the game at 100mph we'll fair no better on Saturday either. We need experienced players and leaders in the side to control the game and also their teammates.

    Bang on mate.

If O'Shea is fit, he must play, for that reason.

I wish we could travel through time and bring Quinn and Phillips back from 10 or 11 years back!

for me its the same side that went in against Liverpool

will be the fourth time they have played together after 90mins against Hartlepool and games against Hibs and Liverpool

would only make a change if we bring in a quality signing before then but thats looking unlikely

You think Ricco should stay in?

I guess his pace would help vs Jonas, but the fact he can't tackle is a pisser.

for me i think we should only play 4-5-1 when were away from home or against the top 4/5

we need someone up top with gyan would maybe try ji untill we either buy someone else or he wants to risk wickham

You wouldnt drop Richardson? I thought he had a shocker? (Only saw MOTD highlights.)

Also if he plays LB he'll be no use against Gutierrez on the other wing, BB.

Yer I wouldn't change it everyone has a bad game from time to time, I thought Richardson got a bit better after a realy bad start at Liverpool

keep Sess just behind Gyan if he is on top form then we will create things just need to take them

he wasnt that bad first 20 mins he was caught out and was lucky not to be sent off, but after that did nowt wrong! i will be slaughterd for saying that tho cause seems not one person likes him.. if bruce drops him no problem with me, but i dont know who else he can put there without disrupting the whole defence!!!

Well if we go unchanged you wont need his pace to handle Barton on the right hand side, I'd actually say O'Shea on the left would be perfect if fit, his experience would match Barton's unfamiliarity with a wide role IMO. Obertan will be a handful when we use him though, frighteningly quick player.

    I like Ricoo, actually ;)

Just the fitness thing, on O'Shea.

Good to see we respect each other this year.

As I've said before, it sems that many Sunderland fans seem to have an inbuilt need to have a member of the team who is the 'pantomime villian'. It seems that Richardson is it at the moment...
