Match Day Thread Saints v Manchester United 17th May, 7.45

There's a theme. When SB has come on recently I've thought it's for the wrong player (should always have been Dusan).

 

Oh, and there's been a few weird penalty decisions in our matches, but that was the worst of the season, sorry conspiracy fans.

 

Well. Not the most exciting game I've seen but far from a snoozefest. Can't really argue with a point against Man Utd either.

 

0-0 Don't think any of us saw that coming!

 

We now have the most 0-0 draws in a season apparently?

 

Kept United to just one shot on target. Enjoyed most of the second half.

 

I would have gladly taken a point before tonight but we actually deserved more. Pity.

 

A positive is that's a hell of a lot of clean sheets.

 

Things didn't fall for us but you really have to score the penalty. Utd were there for the taking but always dangerous so we couldn't commit more men forward, difficult balancing act, got the point which is better than a loss but can't help but feel we should have got more.

 

Now I know why the playoff game was on at the pub.

 

Have to say he has looked hungry tonight.

 

Saints played better second half and were unfortunate not to score. Less of the booing please, I really don't see how that helps the team one bit.

 

A point against man u.i thought we played very good football in parts.

Also as whiteley saint pointed out,the booing is pathetic imo.support the team ffs

 

JWP on penalties, it is known.

 

Sounds like we had the best chances.

 

I kind of get people being annoyed. But yeah booing doesn't help.

 

VARs would have sorted the pen in the box incident within 5 seconds.

 

While Targett is good defensively his lack of pace and crossing do leave us without an attacking outlet on that side.

 

Tadic looked so much more effective in the middle until Boufal was introduced and he was moved wide once more.

 

Which again I will say is weird. In the u21's he had a great cross on him and scored a few free kicks.
