As Bojo said whilst he was a journalist 'Never let the truth get in the way of a good story'. The horrible truth is that the British have the most right wing press in Europe and it is very hard for any opposite views to come across.

Main point was about the excellent UK unemployment figures and ways we can give an example to those struggling countries in the EU unable to deal with high unemployment. I quoted France but there are numerous EU countries suffering with this problem. Some of those would obviously benefit by also leaving the EU.

The problem you have is that he actually said those comments I highlighted.

Even commonsense electioneering can't get the message across. This week I've had delivered election pamphlets from SNP, Greens (even though they're not standing in my constituency!!) and Labour - all outlining their proposed plans ahead of June 8th.

Today I received this piece of nonsense in the mail - not one policy mentioned throughout the document.

The Conservatives are poised to take many seats from the SNP. This election could mark the start of a rapid decline for the SNP, similar to UKIP's fate.

PLU.S.. is it 385 billion in quantitative sasing since they got in... ( not sure on the exact figures)

There should have been proper austerity similar to the Irish. Hopefully with the Tories likely healthy majority they would be able to cut spending further but Mrs May is going for the centre ground so I doubt it. By the polling figures the Conservatives are already the 'worker's party', amazing after seven years of a Tory led government. The Conservatives really are the natural party for British government.

It is a sad fact that the British Press has about as much political impartiality as that in Erdogan's Turkey. Unfortunately as long as all of the countries newspapers remain under private ownership this will tend to be the case. Maybe the reason why the youth of Britain are less in favour of Brexit, and less likely to vote Tory could have to do with the fact that they get their information by other means ie. more from the internet, and are less exposed to the propaganda of the daily newspapers.

Most countries know that they can get the unemployment figures down to an artificially low level - you just force people off the dole figures, on the one hand, and force others into precarious zero hour contracts and 'pretend' self employment.

Ye of little faith. If England won the world cup you would say it was only because the other teams did not field enough good players!!!

Excellent employment figures suggest that all of the millions, or is it billions who have come into the country are working and adding to the economy. They might be driving down wages, but the government needs that if it is to be a real cut throat nation that can sell goods cheaply.

This heartless Tory government is proposing to scrap the winter fuel allowance for the better off. This will lead to hundreds of thousands of pensioners being forced to buy cheap champagne at xmas just like working people have to buy, disgraceful.

No wonder the EU do not want the UK to leave, we are providing the jobs for their citizens that they are unable to. Once free movement is stopped there will be even more pressure on the EU to solve their chronic unemployment problems in many countries.

You are talking such a load of bollocks here SH. and before you whine about this, I am referring to your words not to you. Try looking at the real World - take Rumanians as an example. There are 220,000 of them in the UK. compared to 1,151,395 in Italy, 684,532 in Spain and 657,000 in Germany (there are also 2 million Poles in Germany) - it appears from these figures as if those countries are providing the jobs and not Britain. Unfortunately statistics and figures (ie. the reality) don't counterbalance pictures (produced in abundance by Ukip) and blank propaganda.

Sadly it is all rhetoric. As if some posters are just robotic in their wheeling out the same old line... The facts are.,as you show with this example, quite different

I was referring to the Spanish, French, Italians, etc who will no longer be able to escape their own countries which are clearly unable to solve their own tragic unemployment problems.

You should know about talking bollocks, you have had enough practice on here doing just that, especially going on about 'party membership'!! <laugh>

Interesting that you picked out the French, Spanish and Italians SH. There are an estimated 150,000 French born citizens in the UK. (discounting the Normans - Farage and co.), 125,000 Spanish born and 162,000 Italian born - all added together this is about half of the British population in Spain. So, all in all, the conclusion is 'bollocks means bollocks'.

Most of the UK's expats living in Spain are retired not working, so you are still talking bollocks. Spain's unemployment rate is about 19%, the UK is 4.6%, a massive difference.

One moment SH. 400,000 Britons are listed as living and working in Spain - the rest are, presumably, only pensioners - and are not contributing to the Spanish economy in any way (just being a drain for its health system). There may also be a number of those who are pensioners and working - those for whom the British pension is insufficient to live in Spain. But there is still a British working population in Spain - as evidenced by the fact that there are as many Britons registered for unemployment benefits in Spain as there are the other way around. I know that you would like to believe that the British are a bonus for every country they go to - but that is not the case. As Frenchie has said - there are also as many British people working in France as there are retired. What the situation is in Italy I do not know. But bearing in mind the minute numbers of French, Spanish and Italians in the UK ie. about one in 400 of their populations - the idea of people swarming to Britain to escape unemployment is nothing but propaganda from Britain's increasingly xenophobic press. If you choose to believe this nonsense then go ahead but remember - 10% of Britain's population lives abroad - why ? Because they could get a better life elsewhere.

There are about 1.2 million UK expats living in the EU with 3.2 million EU expats living in the UK. Many of the numbers of UK citizens living in Spain apart from the retired are early retirees and crooks on the run!!
There are many early retired ex pats in France, I was used to be one of them. Most don't go to France for work, certainly not to start a business.
