Nope got him from Fareham CP, a relative worked down here for them then moved to Scotland and now works for CP up there. He's going to be one of the success stories and she's going to send us a copy of the newsletter, can't wait.
Can't say any more as I haven't got a clue where she lives in Scotland.

That sky's a bit gloomy. I'll assume the 'too hot' reference is due to the humidity. We'll get that in a month or two. ;)

Ok, enough about cats. Though it's worth pointing out I have developed car routes that avoid going past our local CPL branch as my beloved can sense a cat that needs her from quite a way off.

    Lets talk hens :)

Not content with the 4 felines and 2 bee hives my wife has decided to get some hens. Despite my concerns (we don't have too big a garden and our daughter's Guinea Pigs were killed by a loose dog while out in a run there) she is proceeding. So three hens will be with us in about a month. Two have been named by the kids as Theresa Lay and Margaret Hatcher (I know). As the last lady is apparently white and red in colouring it was suggested I choose a Saints related name for her.

So far I've only come up with Kat/Katharina to honour our owner but as that may change soon I wondered if any here could think of something appropriate.

Remember I will be calling this name out in the garden so clean suggestions only please.

Chicken George! (great on both wings)!

We need to have a chat at the pub soon Greensaint. I want hens but the wife not keen. I already bought the coup and hitch a couple of years back and have cleared part of the garden for a long run (can't be free range fully as we have a field behind us)... I also wanted to turn the back garden into a rabbit sanctuary but again i was told "non!"

Oh George Lawrence, entertainment all the way. He didn't know himself what he was going to do next so most defenders stood little chance. As his wiki entry quotes he was "full of strong surging runs" and "would, when remembering to take the ball with him, completely perplex opposing defenders and cause havoc in the penalty area".

Georgie may well be a contender, we have to remember these are ladies after all.

It's usually my aim to make the first league home game of the season so most likely up for a pre game meet then. By that time I'll be able to impart first hand info on hens, fences and how they mix with the cats. My wife wants them to be a bit free range during the day, I see fox trouble ahead.

    Chicky Lambert, surely.

Though you must at least consider Glenn Cockerill.

If we were able to have a cockerill then Glenn it would be. However for egg and noise related reasons girls only I'm afraid. Glenda has a nice ring though.

If I had chickens, one of them would have to be called Pertelote, after Chanticleer's favourite hen in Chaucer's "Nun's Priest's Tale".

Geoffrey Chaucer, you will remember, played as an attacking midfielder in Southampton's successful 1366-67 season in between writing poems and acting as Edward III's Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Mrs. Serbia just said "shall we get some quails?" No, because I will have to clean them out every day, it takes 20 quail eggs to make an omelette and it's minus 20 here in the winter (and nobody on not606 will be able to find amusing names for quails!)
