Interesting that you talk about a cultural difference Beddy!! Le Harve is a commercial seaport, Southampton is a commercial seaport. In years past I am sure that Southampton had much more in common with Le Harve than with London, and Le Harve more in common with Southampton than Paris. Seaports look out. not in!!

I like my eggs poached in maple syrup personally, and then I can drink the Burgundy later.

A friend of mine borrowed the Victorian Kitchen Garden series featuring Harry Dodson. He was from Hampshire. I bet you do not hear his accent anywhere now. Plenty of dropped "h's" but my German and Spanish friends understood him quite easily. I suppose it is because in the series they speak slowly. Fantastic series!!

You just heat the maple syrup to a simmer (you need a small saucepan and a whole bottle of maple syrup), poach the eggs and put them on a thick chunk of granary toast and a big spoonful of hot syrup. I like bacon with mine
Then drink the wine several hours later whilst grazing on a charcuterie platter mmmmmm

Yeah, reading the last few bits in the article gave me the impression that the club will "mutually" part ways with Puel. Same as most Summers in regards to selling players, but even more so with so many on longer term contracts. The cards are all in our hands, and only selling if it is in the best interest of the club going forward (something some fans still seem to struggle with grasping!).

Read my post from the other day. It could be anything holding it up, such as the PL not liking Lander?

Remember that series well. People went VKG mad back then. Even when they were choosing houses they wanted high walled gardens. We got into the swing of it too, a bit, although we had an existing high brick wall, facing south, in which we eventually had a peach and a nectarine tree growing up against it. They grew quite well too and provided us with good fruit. We also inherited neglected cherry and plum trees when we bought our house in Kent and brought them back to production. We got our own greenhouse going too, though we stoppage short of the lean-to version, otherwise we wouldn't have had any brick wall left to use.

I have to admit, I'm totally disappointed. What was the point in this whole season.

I have no strong feelings either way about Claude. He has done well with limited resources, injury problems, etc. His public persona (aka talking to TV) does not make him look like a witty, wise-cracking bundle of fun - his answers are considered, then delivered in a language which is not Claude's mother tongue, so he seems to be a slow thinker, because he is taking care to find the right words that will not lend themselves to being misinterpreted.

One thing that I have not yet seen from any 'Claude must go' contributors is - 'Who will the club replace Claude with?' If Claude walks, then the club may have to play catch up in an attempt to replace him, but I doubt if the club will perform a knee-jerk reaction and sack Claude unless there is a new person already lined up to become manager (coach?).

So, if the club is indeed going to 'let Claude spend more time with his family', why has there been so little speculation about who is to replace him? With managers all having agents, I suspect that any approach to any current manager will result in leaks and briefings stating that someone is being lined up to take on Claude's role, so if it is so cut and dried, why no speculation/gossip/rumour over the next ex-Saints manager?

It will cost the club a lot of money to sack Puel.

Yes, but it's not Lander Sports anymore is it. It might be Lander Holdings or there is another company out there whose name I can't remember.
