Apparently, Keith Moon once reffered to himself as "The best Keith Moon style drummer on the planet" Can't argue there.

This rap music is responsible for the breakdown in our society which led to the english riots.....just ask respected historian David Starkey.

That was a strange one wasn't it? Not the usual PC stuff you expect from a BBC man. I have to agree with his comments on the "false patois" both black and white youths seem to speak in these days (particularly down south). Jack Wilshere talks like that and it sets my teeth on edge - especially when it's a white kid. It just sounds like ther're trying to be "gangsta".

WHAT?!?!! Young people don't speak English like David Starkey?!?! <yikes>

Old people always complain about how the younger generation speak/dresses/act differently, so ****ing what? Your parents did it too Jip, and their parents probably did the same. It's no different <ok>

It is different. Why are these kids trying to sound black? Nobody expects them to speak posh, and this is not what Starkey is getting at. He's not saying that younsters should speak BBC English, but why not just talk in their regional accent? That's what the youngsters do up north. It only seems to be a southern (and particularly London) thing.
