Merson goes for 2-1 win for United if they play a strong team. Has this to say about Puel: Claude Puel is under a bit of pressure; they finished seventh last year, but what would you rather: finish seventh and not look like doing anything, or finish 12th and get into a cup final which they should have won? Football is all about moments, I'd rather be in the cup final. I think he deserves another chance.
It's great to see everyone back after their injuries, but in the future could you please, if you have to, get injured at the end of the season and recover over the summer?
Been a weird season, 2 good teams, 5 teams that should do better, 10 average teams and 3 poor teams. We should be the best of the average and kick on next season. Let's give Man U a whooping!
I totally agree with the sentiments of this thread. I don't think it has been a very strong PL this season and I feel that it will be far more interesting in 2017/18. We could finish in any number of positions this season and this merely reflects the evenness of the league. It will be more difficult next year as the three relegated teams have all been poor and not been particularly worthy of playing in the top flight. I will be intrigued to see how Stoke do next season as Hughes seems overdue for another crisis. I think they might struggle . With regards to Wednesday night's game, I believe that there will be some kind if justice meted out against Utd following the match at Wembley. I think we will snatch a 1-0 win with Saints frustrating Man Utd. It will probably be a more measured approach on Wednesday but am hoping that we tonk Stoke over the weekend just to get the goal tally up to something decent. I have a feeling that Sunday will be a 3-0 win.
But he did say we should have won the League Cup Final. Which is about as close to praise as I've heard from him.
Just wait until video technology arrives. The big teams will have a crew of hackers to show what they want to be shown. Penalty at Old Trafford. Replays will show it happened outside the penalty area. Blue writing.
Nah, they'll just use the TV money to develop time travel and ensure that any player who would have scored against them in this version of reality is mysteriously injured in the warm up and never actually starts the match. Of course, this doesn't preclude the replacement also scoring, but with time travel, they'll just go back and injure the replacement as well.
Get your revenge emotion going. Try Pat Nevin's guide to "Why the **** don't we have video assistant referees yet.?" http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39895968
https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017...claude-puel-pre-southampton-manchester-united The second part of Puel's press conference. Nothing new...just saying that the team is young and final touch needs improving....praises Nathan for his goal. Asked about his need to improve things with the fans, he said that he can only be honest (may mean true to himself) and fans speak to him and seem pleased to see him*. Asked if Mourinho congratulated him after League Cup Final, he smiled and said of course, but that's easy after you have won. *Suggests that the anti-Puel brigade are mainly keyboard warriors....for which I'm glad, don't need confrontation.

"Scope support more than a quarter of a million disabled people and their families every year, promoting equality and raising awareness of key issues." ------- They're also doing a penalty shootout where Virgin donate £5k per goal - or the keeper costs disabled people £5000 per save
