Chilwell was linked fairly heavily last summer, but Leicester wanted to keep him and would have cost too much. Cresswell, former academy player we let go at 15. Not bad, but not a first choice LB. Maybe depending on how much it'd cost. Kolarov wouldn't be much of a improvement on Milner, other than he's left footed. As long as we bought a first choice LB, he'd be a decent backup. Been linked with Hector and Rodriguez all season, but those links seem to have cooled off in the last couple of months. Think CL might make these more possible.
Depends what you mean by improvement. I think defensively, they are probably fairly equal except that Milner is more tenacious and you know you will get 100%. Kolarov on the other hand is a bit more lackadaisical and lacks focus and sometimes has a big error where he gets skinned to easily if exposed. Going forward though, these two are worlds apart. Kolarov can pass, shoot and cross in my books. The big question mark for me about him is mentality and attitude. He goes through massive swings in form where i think he's a world beater and then times where he's just a passenger. You know Milner will be busting a gut whereas Kolarov is sometimes just jogging around
Bring back flanagan? Can always re-insert Moreno, he's basically the human version of a pet dog and will run for 90 minutes when he sees the ball
No thanks to kolarov. Hull fans at ebit meh on Robertson. Very inconsistent it seems and shouldn't be first choice for us. As back up with a first choice lb could be decent option.
As i said.... NEITHER KOLAROV NOR MILNER CAN ****ING RUN! Flangan and moreno are **** but theres no point putting anyone in that's an extra sink of wages who can't frigging run as far as i could FFS Go find a guy who can defend and get up and down the line.
Why the **** would we sign a defender from a team that have been relegated this season? How stupid are we?
Just ask yourself which club was stupid enough to sign Ballotelli and which posters thought it a good idea
Defeat at Crystal Palace on Sunday confirmed relegation for Hull, meaning Andrew Robertson will probably play his final game for the club against Tottenham - Liverpool have apparently agreed a deal?
i don't think he is any more than a decent LB but admittedly haven't paid particular attention to him when i have seen Hull play
Arsenal signed LB from schalke on a freebie it seems. Think we got loosely linked with him in Jan along with WBA.
Still young to have potential. Sounds like from hull fans his positioning is bit iffy, but few said that playing with better players could improve his game. Bit hit and miss going forward, should offer plenty down up and down pitch. Sounds a bit like Moreno at the moment though. Still lll hope we have a first team LB lines up and Robertson is understudy.
Klopp has an impressive track record of signing seemingly average players and making them a hell of a lot better.........just sayin'
yeah thats what i said Coutinho lallana mingolet ok so lovren and clyne are still just ok but you can't keep producing miracles
Sounds a bit **** to me. If even his own fans aren't that impressed with him, then whats the ****ing point? If you're going to sign a player from a relegated team at least make it the one that was the best. Even so I don't think we should be looking to buy from Relegated clubs, unless its for backup (why would you waste money on backup when you've already got them at the club?). Provided we get CL we should be looking for better players. If we're going to buy a Left Back, and christ do we need to, it needs to be a first choice LB. Buying Robertson would mean having to buy at least 2 LB this summer and there are other areas that still need strengthening as well.
