Re the street food thing... HullBID @HullBID Replying to @DeniseHayworth @hullrickshaws @bbcburnsy We felt people might get fed up with it and never come back if we had the same problems again, and we didn't want to risk that!
Eh just invite more street food vendors then. How simple is that. Get fat bob off wickes car park, he'd get em served no problem rather than that poncy kid fro shoot the bull
They all need licenses and there's no more room in the square, so they're increasing the licenses to take in streets around the square, so they can have bigger stalls and more of them.
So make it easy and make it happen. Why wait. It's proving people will come out to anything. Short notice won't make any difference.
Agreed. Annoying though. I bet the organizers will have some stories to tell about dealing with our council when they write their books
I was hoping to get to the last one but got held up in the pub, as it turned out that may have been for the best. Anyway I thought this was to be a collection of existing food sellers (like posh burger vans) who would have all the necessary permits, licences, health and safety, and qualified staff. The other thing with this type of thing is that they have a relatively short working season and I would think many / the best are booked up months in advance. If it was something else, well that's another thing altogether.
You made the right choice in not going if you wanted to eat, but the atmosphere in general was great I was going to go to the next one with a cool box full of beer and a belly full of food I'd eaten earlier That would the best way to enjoy it!!!

Good idea...apart from the fact that you couldn't get in a pub that served food anywhere in town! ...I ended up in Anlaby!
Hull City Hall @CityHallHull SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT! Comedian @RobBrydon brings his I Am Standing Up tour to us on October 12 2017. Tickets £27.50. On sale Wednesday at 10am.
I had a flying visit to Hull, last week, and visited the Ferens. Brilliant displays and films. We especially liked the weird-scale human figures, the icons, and the videos. We spent 5 hours in there (including coffee breaks). I bought a couple of books and other bits - cards, etc.
I've never visited The Deep, so would have liked to go there; and the Humber Street area. Didn't have enough time, so I'm determined to get more visits in...
David Burns @bbcburnsy Breaking.. @HullBID tell me that Trinity Festival may not return this year to Trinity Square. It could be Zebedees's Yard again. Very odd, all the money spent on Trinity Square, then one of the main Trinity Square events is moved somewhere else.
It seems that UK law requires a 28 day consultation period with local residents before outdoor alcohol license can be granted, not something that HCC can get round.
