I don't think 1x negative post counts as "expressed your disappointment quite strongly" counts but my main point was about you & others telling posters with a bad word to effectively piss off & go follow the supposed usual winners. Anyway, nuff said, from me anyway.
In normal life by which I mean away from football if he were sacked Claude would have a very good case for constructive dismissal.
My long post about events at St Mary's was designed to demonstrate that you can make up loads of stuff on the internet and before you know it people start to think it is true. What is it they say "lies and rumours are half way round the world before the truth has got its boots on".
Last season we were claiming "Best of the rest." This season it'll be Everton, next season someone else.. and so on. That title is a short term thing and really irrelevant. Imagine being the best of the rest five seasons in a row - fans would be moaning at whatever club that was for not progressing! Ps. I love your last line - it genuinely made me laugh. You could be a pundit
Everton cannot win the ''best of the rest title." They are within 4 points of the top 6 but 15 ahead of 8th so on that basis alone are eliminated from the competition.
Of course it is a short term title and from one season to another you can only talk short term. I'm not saying because we have not finished 7th our season is a failure, just that we have hadecided a worse showing in the league this year. As for my last line, do you really disagree?
Some fans are happy moaning. Just like holiday makers who are always moaning. It makes them happy to moan. Just like Lisa!!
No, I worked out that 45 points is a lot less than 61.... hence why I laughed and said you could be a pundit - they often state the bleeding obvious
Last season was a high watermark for Saints, but the fact that Leicester won the league show just how much disarray the traditional top seven were in. The status quo has been restored with the best coaches joining said clubs plus the best players as well. I don't think that we have regressed too much, all things considered and I expect us to be better in the league next season, if we keep Puel that is.
I had a similar thought myself. You'd assume only Les and those higher up the structure would know. Unless Puel has already (been) given his notice. That would be quite unusual though.
I didn't, but anyone coming back from 2 weeks in Ibiza with half a brain cell left could see there were much better options out there!! But yet we still chose Puel!! Great work!
Puel didn't look like a man who'd been given his notice on Sat. Looked also like he cared very much about Saints winning. But hey, he wouldn't be the first Saints manager to be sacked after a win.
Well seeing as Saints compile a minimum 50 page dossier on any person they will consider, one can assume they went through all the variables and barely available options to get the right guy. And after interviews, feedback, and I understand, character advice from Arsene Wenger, they arrived at Claude Puel, whose only real fault is that he does boring immediate post-match interviews. Little did we know but that getting off a plane drunk from the Balearic Islands would have better qualified them to make the decision.
Deluded maybe, but at least they can probably spell. Besides which, you've changed your decision time to this end of the season. There may well be better options now. But back then, there were very good reasons for employing the man.
I didn't think he was the best option last summer, but I've seen signs that we could do well together. If we are to finish top ten & get to a cup final then ask for change, then I don't even know who we are anymore. Stick.
