<peacedove> Our manager Jurgen Klopp said we are close to Chelsea. If we are close our home form has been the one that let us down. Tottenham are closer according to the evidence

Tottenham won17 at home drew 2 lost 0 Away won 7 drew 6 lost 4 Goal difference 49 points 80

Spurs have a really good XI, front to back. There are questions over squad depth.

Chelsea have a very good squad and will no doubt add more.

City will do the same as Pep will bring in players who fit his style.

Will be controversial and say that I do believe we are the weakest of the top 6, but we have a great manager who is getting the most out of us.

Close is a relative term though...

We matched up to them in two games against them this season for instance... is that close? It would mean bournemouth are close to us as they did for us in the end late in two games

You can be close in terms of 8 or 9 players but over a season the greater resources tell.

you can be close in terms of 10 points over a season.. or 5.. or whatever.

In the end the kernel of truth that's in the stats posted is we drew too many games at home. Our away form is not disastrous by any stretch

however dribs you need to recheck your away from cos if that's league only cheslea played 21 away games this season.

With quality additions Chelsea will most probably win the PL again next season and also win, or get close to winning, the CL

I believe that google maps can solve this issue for you quick smart.

I believe that Arsenal are closest by a few miles <ok>

10.4 miles on roads. (or 400 if you are man utd bus driver who gets lost)

6 miles approx as the aeroplane with the wenger banner flies.

The closest currently in terms of first 11 is Spurs by quite some way, I'd even argue that Spurs team is stronger than Chelsea's. I think Chelsea's edge on Spurs this season has been not playing European football.

You guys are along way off either Spurs or Chelsea, only Coutinho would get a game at either club. You had everything in your favour this season with no European football and you still couldn't mount a serious challenge. Its only going to get even tougher next year when you have so many more fixtures. Think you'll do well to finish even 6th with the current squad you have.

TBF we consistently outplayed the top teams this season, whereas Bournemouth didn't beat any other top 6 side this season [HASHTAG]#luckedout[/HASHTAG]

Do you not think you had an advantage physically over the other sides in the top 6, considering you played a lot less fixtures than all of them?

A lot less, or on average, one fewer game per month?

Considering we used a smaller core squad, our main players probably played more minutes of football than the teams who played "a lot more games".

The lot more games angle is a bit of a herring.

They haven't done as well as last time they had no Europe and kicked the domestic cups into touch.
I think it helps that others of the top 6 don't see them as real challengers so take them too lightly.
