I am not saying he isn't, in fact I really rate him but keepers for some reason don't go for much vs midfields/ forwards
Not quite as much usually but I think for the top keepers in the world now you'd be looking at between 50 to 70 mil. With Pickford being English as well as his current ability and huge potential I genuinely value him at 30 to 40 mil in today's market.
If he goes for anything less than £30m I'd genuinely consider it be yet another massive cock-up by the board.
He hasn't just been very good this season, every knows about it too. Compare it with the coverage of Mignolet, Bravo, etc. and it's hard to see it being less than £20-25m. I'm not convinced it would be more as there are other keepers and each big team only needs the 1 (some, though not many, change keepers but it really isn't like any other position). More to the point, I just don't see it being up front payments. Go on sell him to Newcastle, we'll give you the money up front!
At present Tom Heaton is up the pecking order but if Pickford continues his rise he will over take him. The issue with keepers is they can go from golden bollocks to nobodies look at the likes of Kirkland,Carson,Robinson,Green even David james to a degree. Only a few years ago You could not go a week without hearing Tim Krul's name been mentioned with one of the top European teams and look how his stock has fell.
When was the last time you were bringing youth players through your academy that had a decent transfer value?
Oddly his performance on Saturday may have been his worst showing for us. Of course he has set himself an incredibly high standard. I'm not expecting us to raise a lot from any sales. Pickford apart, who have we that is worth much? Kone might have brought us £17/20 mil last close Season. Now I reckon we will be lucky to get him off our wages bill. Borini's agent, (the fantastic Fanti!) seems to feel that his client and (Manone) will be in high demand. Not by any club looking for a striker, We might get a few £mil for Manone. Our record signing N'Dong, has done nothing to justify what we paid. There's no point in going through the list. Pickford and Defoe are about the only players who emphasised that they are Prem quality. The rest are going to where they belong, at best, or out of the club at the end of their contracts. We finished bottom for a reason and that wasn't the Manager, it was the players. 'Elbows Al' was 100% right with his comments. If they couldn't be arsed for the sake of the Club you would think that they might have tried to put themselves in the 'shop window'. It seems that even that was too much for most of them and they may not have done themselves any favours from it.
We will probably get around 35m for our saleable assets , which illustrates just how badly run this club is, and the dilemma we are in, Moyes will blow this on ex Everton crocks and Man U no-hopers if he gets the chance. I will be pleasantly surprised at any other outcome, its always interesting, but this has been a season to forget..
Is he actually any good? Only seen him in the flesh once at Goodison this season and he looked mince that day.
Aye he is, good that is. Great shot stopper like all decent keepers but stands out because of how fast he is, incredibly mobile and we've already seen several double saves from him that you wouldn't expect a normal keeper to get. Good at claiming crosses and owning his space. His party trick that really makes him stand out is his ability to spray the ball up the pitch with Beckham-esque accuracy and he doesn't **** about, when he sees that a pass is on the ball is on the move. Also seems a very confident lad and communicates constantly with the defence. His decision making isn't bad but it's something to work on, he is only a baby relatively speaking. He does make the odd mistake but who doesn't. At least it doesn't get to him when he cocks it up.

Errors will not be well received. Hes still developing his skills. Why not become the finished article at his boyhood team and idolised by fans . In my experience things will only get better here - He needs to stay and lead us (his team) back in to the big time league - then Europe ?? I can only think of one moyle reason why he will leave
Good post P and agree totally until you absolve blame from our manager - that is so wrong - BSA would have had that demotivated clueless team firing on all cylinders playing with self belief - I never saw that under Moyes - even Defoe was becoming subdued. All I say is how can it be justified playing an obvious target man on the wing - managerial or players fault. That's only one negative. Also DM's negative comments about the strengths of our developing players earlier this year does not bode well - I do not trust him to bring in players who will take us up
Yep. One player 6 years ago. I can't think of any more players who have come through your youth system to be successful. We even prepared Jack for you. Well we weren't going to give you one of our better ones, were we.

No wonder some people think you're on the wind up constantly.
most that money that comes oh and you have had a conveyor belt full of top talent WTF through out the years.
