I've just watched the first half on Sky. It certainly was different to when I watched it live. There's the Ranocchia mistake of course. But Zaha did handle the ball before their second goal and Puncheon handled the free kick from Grosicki. Many of the players got a lot of stick from the fans on here but I didn't see them do too much wrong. The big difference between the teams was how we were set up. Zonal marking is just not working for us. Playing a right footed left winger with one striker doesn't give us much chance. Palace had players working together trying things whereas we had players on their own with very little support up front. Once we passed the half way line the players seemed to think "what do I do now?". Playing Maguire at right back does him no favours but what's the alternative?

Its gone, but surely putting Maguire in a defensive midfield role in front of a back three was the right move, but as I say 'it's gone' and nothing I say will change the result.

Haven't been arsed to suffer it twice yet, but watching it live I just thought we looked scared to try anything. We got into their half and everything went back and sideways. Everything was done at a comfortable, slow pace. No-one seemed to try to take responsibility, no-one bust a gut, only Harry and Jakupovic tried to rally the rest of them. Only N'Diaye looked up for the challenge. We could be playing now and still wouldn't have scored.
PS Hate to single someone out, but Elmo was shocking....he just looks shot- doesn't make runs, doesn't look for the ball, doesn't take on his man, passes the ball back at every opportunity.

I think the big issue I have is with the stick the players got from some people on here. When you watch the match again you can see that everybody was trying and nobody played badly. The fact is that Crystal Palace played better as a team and played a team that could play well together. Our players were pretty much on their own when they got into the opposing half.

Markovic, when fit, seemed to be the one player we had who was able to get into a dangerous position.

I saw that Harry went to centre back after half time. I tried to remember him playing at centre back and then I was reminded he was injured just after the kick off! It could be a bad injury - is there any news?

No mystery as to why we are down!
Starting the season with 9 first team players - check
Starting the season with no manager - check
Spending next to nothing - check
Waiting way too long to get rid of phelan - check
Waiting too long to bring in a decent manager - check
Giving him enough funds to put together a patch work quilt - check
Expecting us to survive with strikers who couldn't hit a barn door! - check

    The list goes on!

Simply put, when our relegation rivals have Llorente and benteke at there disposal and we have niasse, then your stuffed!

when somebody doesn't look like they will be successful on their own shouldn't the answer be to play two up front regularly?
and don't say that playing two up front who can't score is twice as bad as playing one who can't score!

I think we would have played 2 up front today if Abel was fit but would it have made a difference as it didn't last week. Markovic was a massive loss in my opinion as he always looked like he had something up his sleeve. As I said our attackers were simply not good enough. We could have played 5 and not scored!

Which ever way you look at it once again we have had too many off the field events screwing our club yet again to have had any real hope of survival Imo. I am well and truly f'king gutted we have gone down again because this season should have been one of consolidation rather than more bitterness, distrust, and hatred from the stands our owners seem to just love generating each passing season. When Deano scored that brilliant winner back at the twin towers that glorious day I honestly thought we had finally turned our p|zz poor past into something decent for a change, but nope,in typical Hull City fashion the club is now once again in no mans land with owners who still want rid,and any potential buyer ( if there ever really was one) probably laughing there f'king heads off now.

    Gutted..

Sadly he has never been reliable. Or consistent.

He's a sick note and a drifter. But when he is on song he is genuine class.

You were right about our options up top. Case of make do with what we have, not play with a proper plan.

No we didn't either if all the others chipped in.
The fact we didn't attack enough, take a chance with a shot or keep turning back instead of having a go cost us.
Playing against zonal marking may have give. Us a chance though...
