Affecting 99 countries, including Russia where the ability to carry out this attack was stolen from the US.

Other news back in good ole blighty, blames the NHS and the Conservative government, pretty sure Brexit must be to blame to.

The great British media political agendas.

Well despite the ability to do it being stolen from the US government, and despite it also bringing the other great super power to it's knees, it's some how Brexiters fault...oops I mean the Conservatives.

I'm not really sure what benefit the computer age system of keeping patient records bring to the NHS.

Quite often GP's and consultants are not sharing all the information and they tend to not have any history of past patient records before the system was brought in.

Laughable as it may seem, for the amount of benefit it brings we may as well return to the days of pen and paper records, because a majority of time, that is all consultants use anyway and is a far more secure method. All they are doing is duplicating between the two methods of documentation!

Yes, records can be stolen but at least they can't be hacked across 100 countries and then held to ransom.

You should go to your local hospital and tell them all this. The system will then tell them, that there isn't a nice warm bed for you.

    Why?

It's so simple even a simpleton can understand it!

Do GP's and consultants share all your records, answer NO!

Do consultants use computerised personal records or paper filed documentation. Answer, paper filed!

What is less likely to attack paper records that would weigh 1,000's of tons or computerised records from a 100 countries by hackers...we know answer.

What benefits have computerised records brought in comparison to paper ones....none.

If computers are so good why have we not destroyed all paper records hmmmm.

GPs do tend to operate more by computer personal records in practices but consultants and hospitals do not and it is a major flaw in the system, well before hackers.

No, they are not, in fact consultants still write letters via their secretary to GPs!

I'm not sure of the precise reasons, maybe something with using different systems?

For example if you want a consultant to know previous history, it's better you personally contact your GP for the information, so YOU can share it!

Also there is no linking of family history, which makes the whole system pretty much ****ing useless.
