Maybe not the changes I would have made but we haven't been playing particularly well and obviously we haven't been scoring so why not? There's one or two in that line-up desperate for game time so it might just work out. Or it might not. One thing you cannot say about Puel is that he lacks the courage to try things. Recently, his substitutions haven't really worked but he's always being positive and trying to win. Have a moan if it is a complete disaster maybe but really what better time to try stuff than in a 'dead' fixture. There might be some pointers as to who will stay or go in the summer.
I am slightly surprised by the amount of changes, Though some players have under performed.. I am glad Tadic has been dropped. I also feel that some players have been given one last chance to play, Or play b4 they are let go in the summer. Either way, I'm hopeful for a positive result today.
It should have some bearing. Sometimes I get the feeling that managers don't care about the amount of time and money fans use up when supporting their club (that applies to all clubs). But mainly I feel we should go full strength for every league game unless we have an important cup match a few days later. Rodriguez has no future at the club IMO so I don't see the point in starting him. That front 3 has a combined total of 12 goals and 2 assists between them.
Interesting lineup. This is exactly the time to give fringe players a chance, it not really a high stakes match. Maybe even better to give a chance to Clasie, Hojbjerg ecc. as they will be raring to go, whereas the likes of Tadić were mentally on vacation for a month now.
There's just no pleasing you. Here is an example Of what may have happened. Purely an example And a guess: Jay: "Boss I want to leave" Puel: "we've had no offers" Jay: "I need to get a move" Puel: "I'm going to play you Saturday, so do your stuff, get me the winner and generate some interest in you and we'll see what is offered" It is one of a million Reasons for the manager making changes.
