First of all, those fans singing for Flores on Saturday, I found embarrassing. They must have short memories considering the stuff we were playing the 2nd half of last season! If they felt compelled to sing anyone's name, it should have been Jokanovic!

As for WM himself... I really cannot see how he can stay, but he think he will. We should be safe, but by no means is it comfortably. We had those 3 good home wins, which were by no means convincing, other than the West Brom game, who didn't seem bothered about attacking.

I assume WM remit was progression. There is none at all. There seems to be no obvious tactics on show. He seems to be forcing the 3-5-2 on the team, but forever has to change it because we are behind, and some team selections and substitutions are just baffling. It looks like he will do worse than Flores but with a much better squad so not sure how they can justify keeping him! If he stays, I imagine he will be gone by October/November!

If he's not, I imagine that quite a few fans will be.

    He cannot be enjoying it?

Flores left because he felt the Pozzos didn't have faith in him due to them not speaking to him.

I presume Walter is being told to "keep going"

We have heard a lot about Mazzari's communication problems, but how many of the players struggle with English ? Zarate needed both Troy Deeney to understand what the referee was saying to him, and Behrami to translate it at Burnley. I don't believe that he is the only one with a language problem. We tend to think that all footballers need to understand is expressions such as 'man on', 'on me head' or 'pay rise' but that is far from the truth if you are trying to get a team to gell together. I know from experience that it takes a long time to learn a language, and that this is necessary before you can feel at home in a country. Playing in another country also means living there for 24 hours per day and to do your best there you need to be also happy in your private life - I wonder how many of our players are ? Living on location in rented accomodation in Watford for a year, without your family, and not speaking the language well does not bode well for getting the best out of yourself in your profession.

That was why our owners would never have wanted SD and GZ was an ideal pick (beware of what you wish for)

Just filling column space with this one. He is in London and was at Chelsea's last home game near to Abramovich and I guess will be on Monday night.
Sky Sports said earlier our defending has been woeful past few games and stated we could have scored 3-4 goals last night but for lazy play? but then again we could have conceded 5 due to lack of understanding by our defenders. They also stated that if we play like this Monday and Chelsea want to put on a show we will get hammered.
Are our players actually trying to get rid of Mazzari now?

Whoever comes next should have some experience of either playing, or managing, outside of his own country. To take someone who has no knowledge of anything outside of Italian football was always asking for disaster.

    WM has to go though.

Can you see him improving us next season?

    I thought not.

I think even some of the national press are questioning how we are not in the bottom 3 and asking will there be a change?

Although I am sure some will still be upnin arms criticising the Pozzos for getting rid off a manager who has "kept us safe"

Well they won't be happy with 17th given the money spent...

As he was brought in to "take us to the next level" you could say he has succeeded, unfortunately the lift has gone down a floor as opposed to rising.

Will be interesting to see if this drop of form will cost WM his job. Even though it was a pretty tough run-in, they have to look at the way we have played pretty much all season - has really only been a few games where I have felt yeah, we played well for the whole game! Finishing 16-17th, not sure the press would really give us as much of a hard time if we let WM go

The prize money for finishing 17th is £8m (16th is £10m), compared to 10th which is £22m. £14m is a big difference to us - it would pretty much be Niang if we wanted to sign him (which I don't really want us to), and the Pozzos won't be happy with this! Top 10 was for the taking this season, considering how poor the league has been outside the top 7!

I'd like us to give Marco Silva a go if we can get him. Seems to have done well with Hull, especially at home, and maybe he can convince Maguire to come with him

I have been so disappointed with this season that I nearly cancelled my season tickets, which cost a lot more because I missed the renewal deadline and my daughter's student ticket morphed into an adult. Hopefully next season will be better. I know the premiership is where we all want to be but I'm sure we had more fun in the championship, or is that selective memory?

My sentiments exactly. I was in two minds about renewing mine as well. I have a bit of football fatigue at the moment and have lost a bit of motivation to go to games. I couldn't be bothered to come back for the Liverpool game even though it's not exactly far and I didn't fancy the Chelsea game either - Although will be back for the last game! I have a holiday next week which I'd rather save my money for, and will be going to a match while I'm away!

The Championship games were far more entertaining. Most of them were about trying to win rather than just trying not to lose! We have also attracted a different kind of fan who thinks it's fashionable to go to a PL game but also spend half their time on their phones watching goals from other matches!
