Players can travel to games if they want to, as well. Manolo might have been the 19th man. There could be any number of reasons. I know it's not comparable in terms of distance, but Mohamed Elneny came to Spurs away this season when he wasn't in the squad just because he wanted to be at the game. He sat in the press seating just behind the benches to watch the game. I've been on trips in my time working for clubs where a player has dropped out of a game in the morning because he got the sh!ts overnight. Or because he just felt like crap when he woke up. It could honestly be anything, there's no point in just saying: it's either A, B or C - and it can't be any other reason.
If he's injured that's fine, but even if it's just a niggle, just leave him at home as we've got nothing to play for.

No player should be an automatic choice and if players have not been getting results for him, why shouldn't a manager change things up a bit?
