If there's one thing I've learnt, it's to not look at football club Facebook pages. Especially the comment sections.
Agreed. Could be the plan was always to rest Gabbi unless Austin failed a late fitness test for the bench, hence he had to travel just in case
My main issue is to take Gabbiadini all the way up there not to even include him in the squad! Either Puel doesn't give a **** anymore or he's put a middle finger up to the Saints fans who've given him so much stick.
I think this game will come with a very clear message from Puel to some of these players: There are places up for grabs, earn them today, it is your last chance. Hopefully there are still some who want a place and will put the effort in. It will certainly show who will fight for their place and those who have given up and don't want to be here anymore. edit: If they fight and put energy in we might actually see a good performance. If they don't then we may well get hammered.
That's the sad thing really. I really don't think there should be such an over-reaction, but you know there will be (if we don't win 3-0). I'm not his biggest fan at all, and to be honest I am now ready for us to depart ways in the summer. But on this particular issue of today's starting XI, I have little issue.
Or there's something the fans don't know about, or he's simply being rested. It can be any of those things. Players get dropped for all sorts of reasons. More often than not for fitness or performance - but not always.
Was chatting to Claude last night. I said hey Claude I've predicted 0-0 for this match, can you help me out a bit? Sure SIS he says, the defence was a bit tired after Arsenal so I'll freshen it up a bit (and I'll stick a couple of duffers up front). Cheers Claude!
Well, if I had travelled all the way up there I would expect our best players to be at least in the squad.
Or .... take him, let the opponents see him get off the bus even if he's carrying a slight strain and they won't expect a change...
Yep, same here. People like Tadic and Davis have been disappointing for a while now. (Tadic more so) We've got nothing to play for, so why not tinker with the set-up and give a shot to people like Jay and Shane. (Even if I think they've been disappointing when I have seen them)
