Lost a CL place to the Goons yet again on the last day of the season. Europa League again next season. <bottlers>
Congratulations (through gritted teeth) to the Chavs - but heaven save us from the developing narrative of the 2015/16 mid-table club in disarray turned around overnight to conquer the world....... No - they were one of the best financed clubs in Europe who had temporarily blipped whilst internally feuding over an egotist manager and spoilt brat players. They then had the benefit of a new proven coach, a couple of major influential signings and an EL-free season. Now **** off and choke on the champagne!!
That's right, you tell 'em....... Can't have people looking kindly on a team that isn't Spurs. Now those naughty Leicester bastards that jumped the queue and won the league have been knocked down a peg, its time to unleash the bitterness towards Chelsea. I mean how dare they they win the league and not be Tottenham. Even though they should have won it, they spent soooo much money, right.....
It's not bitterness to point out a bullshit narrative. Leicester winning the league was a massive upset and a genuine shock. Chelsea doing it after one mediocre year in mid-table isn't.
It's a pointless thing to say. It's a way of making yourself feel better at seeing Chelsea win the league. Otherwise why say it? To look at someone do something good and immediately be like "Yeah cool, BUT......" The ****ing narrative
It's not a criticism of Chelsea, but of the reporting that's accompanied this title win. Conte winning a title isn't a shock. Chelsea winning the league isn't a surprise. It's nonsense. It's nothing to do with Spurs at all. Stop living up to your nickname.
Who has said that though? I saw one guy (Dan Walker) tweet something like "from 10th to Champions....amazing" or some **** like that. Everyone (bar HIAG) knew Chelsea's position last year was false. I get what you are saying, but its not like there has been an outpouring of people pushing this "narrative". And even then, pointing it out needlessly, as a fan of the team finishing second, does nothing but make you seem bitter.
No, it doesn't. Just like last season, we're not supposed to have opinions or we're bitter. Leicester played counter-attacking football? Bitter. Chelsea winning the league isn't a big shock? Bitter. They're not even criticisms of those teams, so how can it be bitterness? It's nonsense.
Only if the opinion is bitter You weren't saying Chelsea winning the league isn't a big shock either. You were saying that people (who are as of yet unnamed) are pushing a narrative that Chelsea came from 10th to "conquer the world". Leaving aside the fact that I have seen no one say that, even if they had, I don't think anyone actually believes it. Your motive for pointing out that fact, was, as I previously stated, a way of trying to downplay another teams achievement, or peoples perceptions of it. Just like HIAG did last season with Leicesterl
You actually quoted someone saying that yourself and you're agreeing that it's nonsense. You don't appear to have a point, other than highlighting someone WUMing that you know does it, as you said that earlier, too. Pointing out that Chelsea winning the title isn't a shock isn't downplaying anything. It doesn't take anything away. Suggesting that it is a shock takes away from what Leicester did, which genuinely was a massive upset.
Since the prerequisite for winning the Premier League is to wear blue shirts and have obnoxious fans, shouldn't Everton fans be spending the next couple of months practicing how to act more like their closest neighbours?
It is. I saw one person on twitter say it. Were you worried this would become the prevailing opinion? Did you think all your fellow Spurs fans would be fooled, and that you quickly had to point it out to them in case they defected to South West London?
When did anyone say anything like that? It's acceptable to criticise opinions. We don't need permission from the Holy See.
No-one expects the Spanish Inquisition!! What a ****ing hornets nest I stirred up with a little comment congratulating Chelsea, but highlighting media inconsistencies!! **** me, some people are over-sensitive this morning!!
Pep Guardiola: "Let me wish Man City's women the best of luck in tonight's FA Cup." Those are ladies, Pep. Raheem Sterling and Claudio Bravo are women.
That did seem a row for no good reason. On to proper matters, how do you see yourself in Europe now. Ready to compete with Real, Bayern, Barca etc or would qtr finals be a good run at it? Assuming no game changinging changes in personnel.
Hard to say really. Depends on who we keep and sign in the summer. I have a feeling Costa will leave and Hazard will stay. If that happens then we need a new front man. Lukaku is the name being touted about, but who knows. I think our style will suit Europe, Conte has lots of experience in European football with Juve in the CL and managing Italy So no reason why we cannot hit the ground running. We will be seeded too in the group stage so that will help. As for you guys, despite your great league form, you disappointed a tad in Europe. I dont see many, if any weaknesses in your first XI, do you put this down to inexperience of Poch in Europe? If so, he should hopefully improve as time goes on. I think you can expect to atleast get through your group next season.
