You're right, people have the right to express they complaints. And as much as they have the right to express their complaints, the rest of us have the right to politely suggest they stfu and go and watch WWE instead
Eh? Wtf has class got to do with it? Where I come from, courage, resilience and loyalty are traditional working class values. And negativity was always leavened with humour. The concept that "I've paid my money and I expect to be entertained" sounds far more like a corporate value to me.
What about the non complainers doing there part at games? The **** atmosphere has largely got to do with a collective disbelief of what is going on in front of them, therfore maybe c. 30k fans are collectively responsible for the atmosphere. That can't be laid only at the fee of the complainers...
The trouble is you get the complainers.........then you get the complainers about the complainers........then you you get the first complainers complaining about then the second complainers.......then you get..........I think you get the picture. That at least is healthy...no matter what your feelings are you are at least allowed to express them. Granted some may not express them in a diplomatic way but hey we are all human.......we are aren't we?
Well, at the end of your life, you're lucky if you die, Sometimes I wonder why we even try. And that's why I'm singing What…what is wrong with the world today? What is wrong with the world today? What…what is wrong with the world today? You gotta think about it Think think about it. Think About It - Flight of the Conchords
Oh **** off. Who said anything about class. Dont presume I make any judgements other than booing your own team is a drag and not great for the atmosphere anywhere.
Yep I hear you. I cant say I'd be happy, I'm pissed off watching on illegal streams (because, your honour Al-****ing-Jezeera bought the distribution rights for NZ without having any plan to use them). Still, the atmos around the club seems worse than it was when we were relegated two divisions. I dont Boo in my living room tho and I wouldnt boo in the ground. Just sigh and roll my eyes passive aggressive style.
Old ones are the best mate; You're lookin at a man who's getting kinda mad I had a lot of luck but it's all bin bad No matter how I struggle and strive I'll never get out of this world alive... Hank Williams
Saints atmosphere is always a bit **** because only the Northam and small sections in Itchen/Kingsland actually contribute. The rest seem to sit their with prawn sandwiches and leave 10 minutes early. But as for this matter - if we win games or play well then the atmosphere is improved immensely - look at Wembley for example. Never seen saints fans make so much noise! Fans have every right to be annoyed etc. Although when they start booing is when is pisses me off as that obviously only makes matters worse. As my mother so often used to tell me: If you have nothing nice to say, perhaps say nothing at all! We are all after the same end result anyway, are we not?
If a large group of people are watching an unexciting game (or even a bad one), most will be silent apart from sighing....that leaves the silence to be filled by the group that are booing.....and the opposition fans. Every team has a singing section who will try (even under difficult circumstances) to sing or cheer the team on. Most will join in rarely. What I have just said could apply to every ground in the land.
The atmosphere is not just down to the 'complainers' but every fan. Perhaps the 'clappers' could get involved too. I can tell you now if the Northam wasn't there (which is probably where the negativity is predominantly), then there would be zero atmosphere at all. Obviously it's been poor this season, but historically our home fans - whether small or large numbers - sing for long periods throughout most home games.
Yeah we are, which is understandable. But for all the years I've had a season ticket, the Northam have sung from the start for the majority of the match, on the whole. I've not known a season as poor in terms of atmosphere as this.
Well.....they used to.....not so much at the moment. Trouble is we used to see the lads going for it and we would try and egg them on. However this latest type of football is not that appealing....or I should say perhaps to me.....
Well I expect to be entertained for my grand a year and I'm a million miles from the corporate bullshit.
Such a mixed bag this season....I miss our exciting play, although there have been flashes of it. Would have hoped that we would all be on song by now....let's see after a good preseason. Even when not doing brilliantly, we have done well in the Cup and league position.....though it is a strange season with us so close to the teams just above relegation. I agree that you pay good money to be entertained, but I hope this is just an interim period and we will be back on song next season....though you won't see the Poch style any time soon.
