A Spurs fan walked into my office today crowing how it was funny how so called big clubs were suddenly after winning the Europa league. Which is a trophy. Which would make two. Spurs have zero chance of winning one and haven't had a sniff for what, twenty years? Funny how piss poor Mikey mouse clubs suddenly see coming second as a success.
I didn't think it was, as I don't have an issue with winning the Europa League. I'd have been happy to do so, even after being dropped into it from the Champions League, though that's clearly a bit ****. It's silverware and it's not something stupid like the Charity Shield, which I don't count. It's funny to see your lot change your mind, though. Moyesed.
We've never been in it much mate, last time we were was under Ferguson and we threw in the towel v Bilbao and last year's scandalous mess v Liverpool. I was pissed off both times. My opinion and outlook has never changed, if you're in it you try to win it. This year, however, it is a means to an end. I'd rather we tried to do well in the league aswell though. You'd known that if you called in our board! As HIAG does, as it is he who's been over boasting about another season of winning nothing.
I'd pop onto the Man Utd board, but we've got a resident fan on ours already! We also have Diego taking up residence, telling us that we're all wrong about everything, so I think we've got it covered. I'm with you and Mourinho about trying to win everything that you're in, though. Fans remember winning silverware. They don't remember having a reasonably decent season for long, though. It's something that Pochettino needs to do to make the next step up.
Exactly. Chelsea actually had a decent side in the 70's, we won the FA cup and Cup Winners Cup in 70 and 71, but then after that, **** all for the rest of the decade. Finished 3rd and were pretty good, but won **** all. Hence why no one remembers the Chelsea side of the mid 70's. Then we got relegated. Hope Spurs dont suffer a similar fate
You got relegated in 74/75 and again in 78/79! The reason that nobody remembers the Chelsea side of the mid 70s is because they were 11th in Division 2. We swapped places shortly after that for a year, admittedly.
Yep, that's him. He came over with the rest of us from Old606. He used to be a wum over there, but you'd never guess that now.
You know what, when I was at primary school I used to remember Spurs yo yo-ing between 1st and 2nd division, mainly because Bolton, where my Mum is from, we're also doing it too. Chelsea seemed more of a 2nd division fixture than Spurs ever did in those days.
I used to love the old 606 as there were way more posters. We used to have these long running threads as chat boards, like the prem board is now, and talk all sorts of ****. A few of us came over to here but only me and sweatband survive, everyone else has stopped bothering. Getting past the censors was a skill itself. Typical BBC, stop funding that so they can concentrate on pushing women's sport!
Not really massive, we're playing a young Ajax side in a one off game. At worst it is 50/50. At best it is also 50/50!
