Just say the season finishes as thus: Chelsea PL winners Arsenal FA Cup winners/4th spot United Double winners Spurs 2nd spot/CL group stages City 3rd spot/CL 16
For me its trophies, and the quality of the trophies. Leaving Chelsea aside (we all know we are no. 1). Man United 2nd, if they win the Europa, as they will have won 2 trophies and a CL spot. Arsenal, if they win the FA Cup, 3rd, even if they dont get a CL spot....With Wenger in charge it makes no difference if they get a CL spot or not, as they will only crash out at the groups or 1st knockout stage. Then the folk who won nothing but qualified for Europe.
Chelsea Man U Arsenal Spurs Man City Yes, would agree with this. Arsenal and United have been ****e but football is about trophies...
we'll see what he brings in during the summer, if he buys a couple of no-nonsense Pulis-esque players to put in the spine they could be a different proposition. How about a shout for Burnley and Bournemouth? All the teams mentioned should be winning things, that those to have survived with games to go is impressive when you consider their fan-base.
A supposed Chelsea fan hoping that his team loses the FA Cup final, so that he can have a dig at Spurs! As if he wasn't a total prick already.
Mourinho says even if they lose Europa the season will still be a success ....lol, no title , no Champions League birth , a ton of cash down the tubes ... Shake your head Jose and tell us if you hear anything ...
But then if we do win the EL it will have been a success; two trophies & CL qualification = job done. Such are the margins.
They won a trophy and reached a European final. Their football's been a bit **** most of the time, but the season's not a write off, by any means. Win the Europa and it's a very successful one, despite their slightly disappointing league position. Were they expecting better at the start of the campaign? Mourinho, Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan, Pogba and Bailly coming in had a lot of hopes built up, so yes. Would they have taken two trophies and Champions League qualification? Definitely.
